The restored Augustinian priory of Brinkburn Priory, located in a picturesque spot along the banks of the River Coquet, is worth the short drive. The National Trust's Cragside House and Gardens lie to the west, and the Heritage Coast's miles of pristine beaches are only a short drive to the east. Just 11 miles to the north is the historic town of Alnwick, which is well worth a visit for its beautiful Castle and Garden.
