The kitchen overlooks the rear garden where you can see a variety of visiting wildlife, red squirrels and woodpeckers are common visitors. From this elevated position you can see Bassenthwaite Lake with panoramic views of the surrounding fells and over to the West, some spectacular sunsets. Many grades of walking direct from the door, from gentle woodland and meadow walks to the more strenuous heights of Skiddaw. An area of occasional farms nestling into the fells reached by meandering lanes and far from the madding crowds, but within easy reach of Keswick and Cockermouth and the popular northern fells and lakes.
