We are super proud of Higginson House & the work we have done to fully restore, modernise & extend it back to being the wonderful property it was always intended to be. Marlow is also our home & a great place to visit....... We'll ensure that you have all the local info & tips at hand, know the best places to visit & explore,..... there is so much to do here for all ages & we hope you'll love it at much as we do. Higginson is a unique property with lovely features & history, our hope is that we have gone to every effort to ensure the house offers the comfort and all the facilities to give you the very best opportunity to enjoy your stay here. Please note that we are currently revising furnishings to improve guest facilities & new pictures will be posted to reflect the changes shortly. Higginson House dates back to the 16th Century and the Gyldenscroft Estate, bequeathed to the family of Gen. Sir George W. A. Higginson, G.C.B. The General was a personal friend of the Royal Family, with King George V and Queen Mary becoming frequent visitors the house. Rich in local history, Higginson House boasts period features that blend seamlessly with all the modern comforts to make your short stay special, .....offering wonderful entertaining space, amenities & a fantastic location for your visit to Marlow. Inside you are greeted by a beautifully panelled hallway with marble flooring, leading to the bespoke kitchen and dining room, with high vaulted ceilings and exposed solid oak beams. The extremely spacious living room offers a sense of grandeur with ornate ceilings, stone mullion bay windows, oak parquet flooring and lovely original fireplace. Accommodating up to 7 guests, within the 4 bedrooms & 3 bathrooms, period features & a high end finish continues throughout the house. The master suite features exposed flooring, a large balcony to the front of the house & classic marble tiled ensuite. Higginson House looks out to a shared circular drive and features private landscaped gardens laid to lawn, with an enclosed courtyard....perfect for pets to stretch their legs safely. Superbly located within Marlow,..... with off street parking & free EV charging, you can forget about your car if you wish. The house is just 200 yards from Tom Kerridge's Hand & Flowers pub and the town centre is a short walk to the riverside Higginson Park and a wealth of boutique shops, galleries, cafe's, restaurants and pubs. If you do wish to explore, our vibrant Georgian market town is on the River Thames and the doorstep of the Chiltern Hills, countryside designated as AONB....perfect for enjoying the surrounding area & beautiful outdoors.

Higginson House is 200 yards from the 2 Michelin star Hand & Flowers & a 5 minute walk to the bustling high street, full of great shops & galleries, you can park up / charge up & forget about your car if you wish. On the doorstep of the Chilterns (ANOB) & on the River Thames, the great outdoors is here to be enjoyed to the max. The town is home to three Tom Kerridge restaurants, with many other fantastic places to eat including local pubs, restaurants & cafe's.....food is a big thing here!
