Situated on the south coast of Cornwall, St Austell provides easy access to some of the most beautiful beaches in the area. These beaches are perfect for families, couples, and solo travelers looking to enjoy the stunning coastal scenery.
St Austell's location also allows visitors to explore nearby towns and villages, each with its unique charm. These destinations offer a range of attractions, including charming harbors, boutique shops, local eateries, and scenic walking trails.
The town itself is steeped in history, particularly relating to the production of china clay, also known as kaolin. The word "kaolin" is derived from the Chinese term "Gaoling," meaning "high ridge," which refers to the hill in China where the clay was first discovered. In the 18th century, large deposits of kaolin were found in Cornwall, leading to the growth of the china clay industry in the region. This industry played a significant role in the development of St Austell and continues to influence the town's character today.
A notable property in the heart of St Austell is Kaolin, a beautifully refurbished 3-bedroom, 3-level rental property. Kaolin is situated just a stone's throw from the town center, making it an ideal base for visitors. With its prime location, guests can easily access the town's amenities, including shops, restaurants, and cultural attractions.
