AS DESCRIBED BY PLUM GUIDE
When you’re staying just four minutes from King’s Cross Station, the bustling travel hub of London, you might not expect to find serenity. However, this Georgian maisonette defies all expectations, offering a luxurious and calm spot with elegant and original decor. From rich, hardwood flooring and cabinets, to chic hanging lamps and art adorning the walls, a rustic versus modern contrast is present throughout.
While we love the interior details, an outdoor area in the city centre is a rare feature that’s hard to ignore. With not one but two separate spaces for entertaining, enjoy an Earl Grey in the morning, and move on to a glass of fine English sparkling wine by dusk.
As if exploring the gorgeous home and grounds wasn’t enough, your host has some extra surprises. Indoors, find your very own 4K projector and sound system for a luxury movie night. Outside, find a barbecue. If you muster up the courage to leave your peaceful palace, head four minutes over the canal to Granary Square and Coal Drops Yard. For foodies and shoppers alike, this recently redeveloped area has beautifully renovated buildings housing cocktail bars, artisan markets, and high-end restaurants.

“One of my favourite listings of all-time (and I'm getting close to staying at 100). The place is very charming, cool design, great amenities, and clean. The outside patio is a great way to chill after a long day. Close to a lot of restaurants and very walkable. Proximity to Kings Cross station is very convenient as well. Hugh was proactive with his communication and very responsive to any questions. Thanks, Hugh, for an awesome stay!”

This is the second time we've stayed at Hugh's property, and both times have been amazing! The property is incredibly comfortable, easy to get to from major train and tube lines, in walking distance of our favorite cultural institutions (British Library, British Museum, National Gallery and National Portrait Gallery, etc.), and the newer shopping and eating areas like Granary Square and Coal Drops Yard. The property is impeccably decorated - Hugh's eye for detail is incredibly tasteful, comfortable, and practical (we wish our own home was as nice!). All of the listed amenities worked as expected (and the provided instruction booklet was much appreciated by two jet-lagged travelers). Hugh is a very attentive host - checking in before our arrival, offering suggestions for restaurants and other attractions, and responds quickly to any queries. We hope to visit Hugh's property again in the near future - an oasis in the heart of London.
Over the past 20 years, Kings Cross has been completely transformed through a 3 billion regeneration scheme. Over a 67-acre site, there are over 100 shops & restaurants and 26 acres of open space. It is also one of the most sustainable major developments in the UK – independently certified as carbon neutral in 2021.
King’s Cross St Pancras is a major rail hub, linking six underground lines, two national mainline stations and Eurostar services from St. Pancras (Paris: 2hrs15).
The area is a hub for creativity and innovation. Central Saint Martins, the world-famous art college became the first tenant in 2011. Since then, global businesses such as Google, Meta, AstraZeneca, Sony Music Entertainment UK, Universal Music, Samsung, Toyota and Nike have chosen to make King’s Cross their home.
Google’s new 1 billion European HQ is currently under construction. The landscraper is 72 metres tall at its highest point and stretches to 330m, making it longer than the 310m Shard skyscraper is tall
Over 40,000 people now live, work and study in Kings Cross. Few places in London can match the mix of the old and the new, the sense of place and possibility that King’s Cross now has.
