Leighton Banks is a gem of a property set in the peaceful and beautiful Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This detached cedar-clad property is set within the grounds of the owner's large property and is at the edge of wonderful broadleaf woodland. Leighton Banks is a part 'upside-down' design property with a lovely spacious lounge and bedrooms on the first floor and the kitchen on the ground floor. The owner of Leighton Banks is a keen cyclist and there is lots of cycling-themed artwork and memorabilia. Cyclists, walkers, and birdwatchers will be spoilt for choice in the local area. Despite the blissfully quiet location, the property is only 10 minutes from the M6 and within 30 minutes of the central Lake District. The property is in a wonderful area of undulating wooded limestone scenery that is truly captivating and unique in the north of England. Two dogs welcome GBP20 per dog.

The twin villages of Yealand Redmayne and Yealand Conyers are lovely, peaceful villages set amongst the rolling wooded scenery of the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This wonderful corner of north Lancashire is often by-passed by those zipping up the M6 towards the nearby Lake District. In a way, that is a good thing because many people will be missing out on discovering this magical area. There's a wonderful network of footpaths and quiet country lanes that wind through the wooded limestone scenery to the other villages in the area - the best known of which are Arnside and Silverdale. You can visit for years and still discover new routes, which all have their charms, whatever the season. Here are some of the highlights of the area:
Leighton Hall - historic home in a beautiful setting which can be reached from Leighton Banks by a very pleasant woodland footpath
Arnside village and Arnside Knott - A ten-minute drive, or can be reached by doing a longer walk directly from Leighton Banks. Fantastic estuary-side village with cafes, gallery, great fish and chip shop, ice creams. Superb view from the top of Arnside Knott.
The Fairy Steps at Beetham - can you fit through the gap without touching the sides? Legend has it that if you fit through without touching the sides, the fairies will grant your wish...
Silverdale walks and coast - The Pepper Pot is a super walk for all the family - not too taxing a walk but a wonderful view across the bay and woodlands below. Silverdale has a butchers, Co-op, Indian restaurant / takeaway and three good pubs.
Levens Hall - famous for its amazing topiary gardens and also well known for the quality of the food at the award-winning 'Levens Kitchen and Bakery'.
