As your hosts our aim is to make your stay memorable. We have been working for over two years now to create these apartments. The building was first established in the late 1800's and was a hotel for a while. We are on hand to provide you with all the local information on places to go and activities to try. We have lived in the area for over twenty years and are happy to share our local knowledge with you. We will greet you on arrival to show you your apartment and how everything works. We can point you the direction of artists, art galleries and craft shops and would be happy to offer ideas for how to get creative in the Mournes.

We are pleased to offer three boutique Art Apartments; 'The Ocean' , 'The Forest' and 'The Sky' to choose from. Each are a fresh and distinctive way to have a memorable stay in the amazing Mourne Mountains. Their rich and creative interiors are inspired by the sea, forests and mountains of the Mournes. 'Ocean' is a first floor apartment with three bedrooms, and with living space inspired by the sea. 'Forest' is a two bedroom ground floor apartment themed on the trees and forests of Mourne. All have a fully equipped kitchen and an inspiring dining area to create your own special night in. 'Ocean' offers a clear view over the bay from your dining table, whilst 'Forest' gives you your own forest glade to dine in or you can use the outside courtyard. 'Sky' is a duplex with spiral staircase with enviable sea views from both floors. All bedrooms have their own rich character and include high quality mattresses and bedding. Step outside and you are immediately on the Promenade. A minutes walk will take you to the beach, to mountain trails passing waterfalls that go up to Slieve Donard. Or saunter to high quality local cafes, restaurants, pubs or art galleries. Across the road you can hire an e-bike. The Royal County Down Golf Links are just up the road. The Harbour is 15 minutes easy walk away for boat trips and the Soak Seaweed Baths. You can also find pony trekking, forests, nature reserves, archery, canoeing. paddle boarding and of course spectacular scenery within a short drive, cycle or bus ride. Each apartment has a range original work by local artists including painters, photographers, woodworkers and ceramicists. A number of pieces have been made especially for the apartment and feature aspects of the myth, magic and majesty of the Mournes. You can buy any of the work on show to take home. We provide lots of information about the artists and their work and there will always be something new and exciting on display.

Mourne Mountain Art Apartments are located right at the foot of the Mourne Mountains, just 5 minutes away from trails taking you to the top of Slieve Donard, or close to the stunning Murlough Nature Reserve and Tollymore Forest. Indeed right outside the door is Newcastle promenade, gardens, and beach. As a renowned seaside resort, Newcastle has something to offer everyone - golf, fishing, pony trekking, walking and of course spectacular scenery.
