Situated on the A866 through the Eye Peninsula (or An Rubha in Gaelic), a few minutes away from the famous Tiumpan Head & only a 10-15 minute journey from Stornoway airport and ferry port. Ideally situated as a base for exploring the whole of the island whilst still being close to the amenities in town and within a quiet village location. A short walk to a lovely pebbled beach with regular sightings of otters and seals. **One double bed sleeping two guests. **Open kitchen/living dining area with combined washer dryer/small fridge freezer, dishwasher & microwave. **Bring your four-legged friend for free! Up to 2 well behaved friendly dogs welcome. Open grassed area on site shared with one other cottage. **Bathroom with shower over bath. **Smart TV with Netflix and Prime video. **Just a 2-minute walk to nearest bus stop with regular service into Stornoway. **Parking for one vehicle. ***When you arrive ask for directions to the nearby "secret" sandy beach. (some scrambling required). ***

For your convenience the cottage has a self-check in lock box. I live in the cottage on site/next door with my husband, a very sweet border collie named Cal and two cats. We share an open area of grass around the cottages which up to 2 friendly dogs are welcome to use as a toilet area. We kindly ask guests to keep dogs on a lead whilst within the grounds. My hosting style is relaxed and friendly, responsive but non intrusive and i am fully respectful of guest privacy. There are lots of fantastic local walks if you fancy spending your days closer to home. Take the dog for a walk to visit the stunning Tiumpan lighthouse only a 30-minute walk away (4 min drive). Use the viewing platform to search for whales, dolphins and porpoises. This is an official sighting spot for the Whale and Dolphin Conservation group! Watch the many nesting seabirds on the cliffs. On a clear day the mountains of mainland Scotland can be seen across the Minch (the body of water between the Western Isles and the Scottish mainland). You’re also a ten-minute walk from a lovely small beach. Explore the nearby coastal path which is accessed only a few minutes' walk away. The Point area of Lewis is ideally situated for exploring the entire Island whilst still within a convenient distance to the amenities in Stornoway. *********** Please note: A motion sensor video doorbell is visible and active within the public grounds.
