Welcome to Pillar House. Pillar house is a quirky, lovely homely, cosy house, The living room has a beautiful cast iron open fireplace, with original sash windows and wooden shutters. A warm and cosy and romantic place to relax in an evening after a long fell walk or cycle ride. The house is perfectly situated in a semi rural location, on the outskirts of Cockermouth, easily accessible by local main roads, to the coast only 8 miles away to the lovely harbour town of Maryport or Whitehaven. A 15 minute walk in the centre of Cockermouth where there are some lovely restaurants, cafes, bars and gift shops. or we are only a 10 minute drive to Lorton and into the hart of the western Lakes, of Crummock, Buttermere and Loweswater, a 15 minute drive to Keswick and the central lakes area. Lots of facilities for out door activities if thats your thing.

I am a nurse and live and work nearby. I will meet you when you arrive to welcome you, and can offer you lots of information about places to visit and things to do. There are lots of resources in the house for you to use, maps, walking books, and information leaflets. If you have a particular request, let me know, I will try my best to help. we also have another property on this site just over the road if you want to holiday with another family or friends, (check out property number 6605104). There is on road parking right outside the house, which is very safe.

Belle Vue is a small Hamlet that is actually attached to Cockermouth, there is a pub very close by that does get pub grub.
