Scalderskew Shepherds Hut is a modern hut with underfloor heating and plumbed-in facilities, situated in a quiet space on a traditional working hill farm in the stunningly-beautiful Western Lake District. The elevated position of the farm enables you to benefit from the fabulous views of Caw Fell, Haycock, Seat Allan and the top of the Wasdale Screes in the next valley. The views are simply breathtaking! The hut comprises a double bed (bedding and towels provided), a two-seat sofa and a fold away table. Kitchenette with induction hob and microwave, tea and coffee making facilities, cutlery and crockery. Bathroom with walk-in shower cubicle, basin, loo and heated towel rail. Underfloor heating, mains electricity and plumbed facilities. Pets are not permitted.

The Lake District fell farm is situated at the top of the Bleng Upland Valley, between Blengdale Forest and Scalderskew Wood, which is around 4 miles north/northeast of the village of Gosforth in the western Lake District. The gravel tracks through the thick woodland and the fell top paths make the Lakeland Hut ideal for mountain bikers and fell walkers alike! The Western Lake District is home to the popular St Bees Head RSPB Reserve and the Hosborrow RSPB Reserve. You also have a choice of beaches such as St Bees, Silecroft Beach, and Ravenglass, home to The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, a 15in minimum gauge heritage railway that runs 7-miles from Ravenglass to Dalegarth Station near Boot in the valley of Eskdale. The Eskdale Valley is equally stunning and offers some lovely walks. A short drive away from an area number of lakes including Wastwater, Ennerdale Water, Loweswater, Buttermere, Crummock Water and a bit further away, Derwent Water. This beautiful area of the Lake District offers a tranquil and isolated place to escape to, only ten minutes off the beaten track, with one of the most outstanding hidden views in the Lake District that the masses of visitors will never ever see.
