Charming, cosy retreat nestled in five acres of land, set in the heart of Warwickshire. The 1962 railway carriage has been lovingly converted and thoughtfully designed inside and out, blending modern comfort with timeless character.
With 360 panoramic views of rolling countryside this unique hideaway offers a peaceful escape. Whether you're here to unwind in nature or explore the rich history and beauty of the area, our off-grid experience provides the perfect backdrop for your getaway.
The space
As you step inside, you’ll find a well-equipped kitchenette alongside a small dining table and two chairs- perfect for relaxed meals in. A partition wall separates the 'bedroom' area, thoughtfully designed for a cosy night’s rest, complete with high-quality linen and wall lights.
The kitchenette includes a gas hob with two rings, a Belfast sink, an under-counter fridge with freezer compartment, and a kettle, along with all the necessary crockery and utensils. Tea, coffee, sugar, and hot chocolate are provided. Essential cleaning items, a bin, and first aid kit are stored in the sink unit. Please note, as the carriage runs on solar power, there is no oven, microwave, or toaster.
The bathroom features a lovely large shower with hot water, a sink and a toilet, along with a window for ventilation. You’ll also find soft bath sheets, hand towels, flannels, a shower mat, body wash, and toilet roll provided for your comfort.
On warm, sunny days, the French doors open wide to let the outside in, filling the space with fresh air and birdsong. If the weather turns, heating is produced by an air space heater.
While there’s no Wi-Fi, you’ll find a collection of classic DVDs for the TV, along with a selection of games for a cosy night in. You can also connect your phone to stream Netflix if you prefer. Alternatively, step outside to the fire pit, where you can unwind in the seating area with a glass of wine, toast marshmallows, and soak up the starry night sky.
Guest access
Guests can self check in from 3:00pm-7:00pm. Please contact the host directly for early/late check in.
Parking is through a private gate, then into a field so you can park directly outside during the summer months. Please note during winter periods, parking will be 150 meters away from the carriage. This is due to restricted access into the field with weather conditions. However, a drop off service is available if necessary.
Guest have the whole field to themselves, with lots of local walks near by, including a 30 minute walk to the Red Lion pub.
Logs for the fire pit will be provided. If you require more during your stay, they can be purchased for an additional cost on site
There is plenty of storage for luggage underneath the bed, this can be easily accessed by the two doors on the front side. Further shelf storage is at the bottom of the bed.
For our commitment to sustainability, the carriage operates entirely off grid and all electricity is generated by solar panels. Therefore, USB and USB-C ports are available for charging phones, standard plug sockets are not.
While this means we’ve been selective about the electrical appliances, we’ve made sure it’s equipped with everything you need for a relaxing countryside getaway.
