Hi, I’m Neil, I spend much of my free time cycling, travelling, and exploring new places. I recently renovated The Sanctuary in Chivenor, North Devon, with the goal of creating a calm, comfortable space for guests to relax after a day on the coast or out exploring the countryside. I’ve always loved hosting and meeting people from different backgrounds. Having travelled widely myself, I know how important it is to arrive somewhere clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared, the kind of place where you can instantly feel at home. The Sanctuary is located in the village of Chivenor, North Devon, a spot perfectly positioned between Braunton and Barnstaple. The area offers a great balance of countryside calm and easy access to the coast, with some of the region’s best beaches just 10–15 minutes away, including Saunton Sands, Croyde, and Woolacombe. For those who love the outdoors, the famous Tarka Trail passes nearby, offering miles of scenic cycling and walking routes along the estuary. The area is also ideal for surfers, golfers, and nature lovers alike, Saunton Golf Club is just a short drive away, and the surrounding countryside is full of beautiful viewpoints and quiet lanes to explore. Barnstaple, North Devon’s main market town, is only a few minutes’ drive and offers shops, cafés, restaurants, and transport links. Chivenor itself has convenient access to the A361, a nearby petrol station, and regular bus routes, making it an excellent base for both leisure and business stays.
