As the name suggests Upside Down Cottage is exactly that as the bedroom and bathroom are downstairs whilst the lounge and kitchen can be found upstairs. Tucked away just off the marketplace this cottage is within walking distance of all the local facilities: pubs, restaurants, shops and attractions. Due to the unique position of this property parking is unavailable directly outside, however there is free parking close by. 2hr free parking 20yrds away between 8am-6pm Mon-Sat. Sunday is free all day. All our guests park on Cornforth Hill / The Green which is totally free unrestricted less than 2 min walk or in Waterloo Street. No need for car, everything very close by. Richmond is the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales and therefore Upside Down Cottage is an ideal getaway as a base for exploring this beautiful area.
Richmond Castle is just a short stroll away as too is the famous Georgian Theatre. Why not take a guided tour or see a performance. Shopping is not a problem as everything you could possibly need is on the doorstep with a weekly outdoor market in the square every Wednesday and Saturday, whilst the indoor market is open 7 days a week. Local produce can be bought in several shops. Restaurants are plentiful with a choice of Italian, Indian, Chinese, Thai or French and many pubs serving traditional dishes and Sunday lunches.
