The cottage was very comfortable. We arrived to a peat fire burning in the stove and it was very cosy. It has great character but is quirky - the bathroom is squeezed in with not much space. Mike was very flexible to meet our requests. It suited...

Traditional Irish Stone Cottage, It was the herds house for the Presse Estate, Lady Gregory's family. It is over 300 years old, with original stone walls internally / externally and authentic feel for a house of this period. It has oil central heating and a wood stove giving a cosey feel to the house. All fuel is provided in the price and the timber is from our sustainable forest. Sauna and comfortable leather seating.
We have many years experience of renting our cottage to tourists and we have top reviews. We give our guests all the local information they need to make their stay enjoyable. We recommend the many local walking, historical and sight seeing activities in the area. We love to discuss the local history and help people trace their Irish ancestors.
We are situated on the foothills of the Sliabh Aughty Mountains in South Galway. We have beautiful views, Mountain walks that start beside the cottage, many Castles, 6 miles from the busy town of Loughrea and 7 miles from Gort. We have an excellent restaurant in Kilchreest, three mils form the cottage.
