"Al Salvatore" is our passion, our little paradise we love to share. This is why we take care of every little detail of our house, also recovering valuable furniture from our family. The construction is a cosy typical house of the Aeolian countryside, taking over the rural tradition of the place, surrounded by 5000 m2 of orchard and garden. The house, 3.5 km far by car from downtown and 2 Km walking by the short road, lives by rain water, filtered and stored in underground cisterns to preserve it. On our island water is a precious commodity, but thanks to the reserves, there is no limit for our guests, but for the kind requirement to recycle shower water, collected in tubs, and use it for the toilet or watering plants. The outdoor showers are heated by a small, artisanal solar heater. The garbage collection is differentiated and the organic component turned into compost, which is then used in the garden.. But above all, we take special care to develop and maintain a structure absolutely "sustainable", according to modern ecological criteria. All that Al Salvatore offers must be genuine and away from the idea of mass tourism, and this is why we choose our partners carefully.

Our passion is the garden and the vegetable garden, for us and for our guests. Tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, zucchini, and all vegetables that grow in any season, with flavours that are lost in time. The orchard is growing too and figs, lemons, oranges, persimmons are often from our trees. By the products of our ground we produce all that we can do at home: bread, sweets, cakes, preserves, jams. Often we produce at home even the tuna fish preserved in oil or natural. What we have to buy is the result of a careful research from organic production in the surroundings in Sicily. So we are investing in making our little paradise a truly green paradise. But Paola is an artist. Her pottery, weaved canvas from the loom, tablecloths and a thousand of original objects adorn our house. And Marcello is a technologist and an astronomer. In scented Aeolian nights he guides you sight from the roof of the house in reading the starry ceiling.

"Al Salvatore" is located in the small homonymous hamlet, in dialect "O' Sarvaturi", in the southern end of the island, about 150 meters above sea level. The B&B is 3.5 Km far from downtown via the park road (5 min by car), and 2 Km far via the ancient mule road (20 min walking down and 30 min coming back). Above us is the village with the church of the Savior from which the place takes its name. A few hundred meters away is "il Semaforo" (the traffic light) now Observatory of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, located on a peak overlooking the island of Vulcano, a breathtaking view, among the most beautiful in the Aeolian islands. From here the sunsets take on incredible colors of an amazing spectacle. Below our house, at the sea, a few hundred meters away is Praia Ferrante, a discreet and private cove, with a mostly deserted beach, reachable on foot or by boat. Once a hotbed of pirate Ferrante, it is now the preferred destination of many of our guests, thankfully a few to disturb the serenity of the beach.
