The Filippini district is one of the neighborhoods in Verona's historic center, named after the settlement in the monastery attached to the church of the same name by the Fathers of the Congregation of the Oratory of Saint Philip Neri in 1715. The district consists of buildings dating back to the 1400s, featuring elegant tuff stone window frames and sometimes adorned with precious frescoes on the walls. Moreover, the neighborhood is renowned for several notable constructions, such as the former slaughterhouse, restored in the 1980s and distinguished by a facade design dating back to the mid-1800s, reminiscent of the architectural features of a Greek temple. There's also the Customs House, dating back to 1745, built by the city council of Verona without the consent of the Venetian Government, despite strong opposition.
