Hello, and welcome to Toodo! Our goal is to create a new and standout experience for locals and foreign tourists in Kyrgyzstan. We do so by providing a unique and sustainable glamping experience in the northern mountain region.
Toodo is meant to be a place of comfort, but not without exciting opportunities. Hike and explore the area, relax and eat heartily, let your body and mind come to rest.
Our vision is to promote responsible tourism by fostering connections between guests and the local community. By fusing a traditional background with progressive design, we are looking to bring out the best of the kyrgyz mountains.
We currently offer tents, wooden houses and empty spots for bringing your own tent. A fully equipped kitchen is open to everyone staying with us and we have a hot shower. Adding to these basic needs, we have wifi, tents and houses equipped with heating and fans, and private seating areas for these accomodation.
The area leaves each spot its privacy, while the kitchen can function as a meeting point if guests want to mingle. Our aim is to provide a more-than-standard comfort when it comes to sleeping in a secluded area, while sticking with being immersed in nature instead of displacing as much as suits our comfortability.
We are a family business with Bahram taking the main responsibilities. He is a glow-up people's person who likes conversations and learning about other's interests, professions and mindsets.. During his studies he spent several months in Japan and has never lost his love for the country and its people. Him being fluent in Japanese will enhance your stay, if it is your primary language!
The team behind him consists of several family members with different roles and input. Some help with logistics, some are part of the on-premise crew and will welcome you, show you around and help with anything you need.
Toodo and its team has been working since 2023 to put Kyrgyzstan on the map for more people, specifically hikers, bikers and mountain lovers! Our own mindset is to fuse the nomadic culture with a modern ecological perspective and be part of a sustainable touristic future of Kyrgyzstan.
Toodo is located in the Kegety Gorge, in the mountain range east of Bishkek. The next big city is Tokmok, roughly 50 minutes away by car or minibus. The canyon holds a river that swells based on the snow melt, especially in spring time.
The people living in the canyon are often herders of cows, horses or goats and grow vegetables mainly for their own use. In the past 10 years a couple of accomodations have sprang up, of which Toodo is not the least one!
The valley can be followed into the actual mountains and those can be traversed, to come out on the other side. This route is a hard one with unpaved road, which still does not turn away many, many bikers! In fact, the Silk Road Mountain Race, one of, if not the hardest bike races worldwide, takes this mountain path and goes right by Toodo!
The most prestigious gem of the valley is the Snow Leopard in flesh and Kol Tor lake in nature. Coming from Tokmok, there's even a statue, testament to the endangered wild cat, when taking the street towards the valley.
Kol Tor and its beautiful color can rival Song Kul on the other side of the mountain range and other popular kyrgyz mountain lakes as well. Close to the valley you can also find one of Kyrgyzstans most famous ancient builings: Burana Tower.
All in all visiting Toodo lends the opportunity to combine historic sight-seeing with encapsulating oneself in nature and step away from (big) city noise.
