Sailing barge "Egberdina" is over a century old. During her long life she has explored the Dutch waters carrying cargo and goods from one place to the next.
Nowadays she has been refitted to accommodate groups of passengers. With a luxury design that is reminiscent of the early 1900s, she provides a place to stay, unwind and relax.
The atmosphere makes you wonder about the adventures of earlier days, the life people must have lived and all the unknown shores this ship must have visited..
Egberdina is designed in the style of the period when it was build, the early 1900's. We have furnished this design by adding comfortable Bohemian elements while retaining a spacious atmosphere on the boat.
There are no separate cabins or rooms. Rather we have chosen to create areas. This means that there is less privacy between guests but more space in the boats interior.
Egberdina is divided into three sections.
In the front are two double beds of 180 by 140cm.
In the corner is one bed of 180 by 160cm.
In the living area are two optional beds available. one is 180 by 140 and the other one is a sleeping couch that can be turned into a bed.
Egberdina can provide sleeping space for 10 people but we recommend a maximum of 8 people on the boat.
The kitchen is well equipped and practical in design.
The toilets are spacious en work just like they do at home.
There is one shower on the boat and it is located at the aft. The Egberdina being a real ship, getting to and from the shower is a bit of a walk. however, the shower itself is very spacious, has a strong water pressure and works really well.
Egberdina is a piece of Dutch maritime heritage. While we welcome anyone who wants to experience what its like to enjoy her comforts, we urge and ask anyone doing so to treat her and her environment with respect. Everything on Egberdina has been handcrafted and while the boat is sturdy and robust, she can also be fragile and sensitive.
Someone is available by phone for questions throughout the day. Outside of office hours you can always reach us in case of calamities. You will be staying on the boat alone.
