Property information

In 1872, Jewish merchant Simon Mendel built a house on Avram Iancu Street in Turda, where he lived until 1902, when he moved to his secession-built villa on Dr. Ioan Raţiu Street no. 25 (called Villa Mendel). The house on Avram Iancu Street donated to the Jewish community, in 1903 opening a Jewish confessional school that functioned until 1948. After the Second World War, "Villa Mendel" was nationalized, and here, between 1948 and 1989, the "House of the Army", after 1989, the Military Circle, and now CASA REMO - Guest House.
