Thank you for your interest in One Love Cottage Tobago. Our rental is built by the owner Lion in Caribbean style. The wooden shatter windows create a breezy atmosphere.The upstairs apartment is mainly out of wood. Board walls and floor doesn't hold the heat in the night . The nights are pretty cool and cozy. Both bedrooms have a full size bed. We provide linens and towels for our guests.. Each bed is equipped with a mosquito net. there is one wardrobe and an iron in the bedrooms. Toilet and shower is located next to the master bedroom. Both bedrooms have a fan. Kitchen is well equipped with a large size refrigerator, a gas stove, a microwave, a small grill and a kettle. The dining table is in the kitchen area . there is lot of pots, wares and cutlery for cooking. From the porch you have a VIP view over looking the village, hills , and garden with Pigeon Pies and banana trees. There is also a hammock for relaxation. The rental is located on the hilly side of Tobago. The distance to the airport is about 30 min by car and to Scarborough and the ferry terminal about 10 min. To the nearest beaches: Grafton, Turtle beach and Mt Irvine beaches are about 10 min drive.

We are half Tobagonian and half Finnish couple. Lion was born and grown in Whim. I was born in Finland and moved to Tobago 1990 Due to our local bindings to the village you can feel yourself safe. We are most of the time around as we live in the same land but in an other property. I have also a gift shop in Buccoo village and will be busy in the high season Jan-April. Lion is self thought builder and works in different constructions. he has also built both of our properties. In our garden we grow banana and mango trees. tomatoes, pimentos, cassava etc.and lots of seasonings and herbs . We have one friendly dog Spice . Spice is a mixed pot hound dog and we keep her outside in the yard. We don't recommend her inside the guest house as some people may be allergic to the dogs. If you wish to make an island tour or hike in the forest to the water falls we can do it with you for extra fee. We can also arrange a rental car or taxi for you . We do airport pick ups for an extra charge.

Our property is located in the very local village. There is no other guest houses around. You can truly get an idea about local lifestyle here. Meet local people, share their stories and immerse yourself to the life style. The villagers are friendly and helpful. On top on the Back Hill there is a magnificent view overlooking Scarborough and the sea. In a clear day and night you can see the fast ferries arriving from Trinidad and even a glimpse of Toco in Trinidad. There are a lot of mango and banana trees around in the village.The village is surrounded by hills in the north. The temperature is cooler than in the seaside.There is also farming and gardening as a lively hood for some of the villagers. They farm local crops Pigeon Pies , cassava , dasheen etc fruit trees. There is a well-equipped Mini-Mart just across the road from the cottage. And some other parlors and one vegetable parlor. We have two small fast food places in the village and one Rum Shop just in walking distance. As the village is a bit remote from the Restaurants and beaches we recommend you have a rental car or taxi to move around to get a better holiday.
