You will instantly be able to breathe a sigh of relief when you come to our very clean cottage, with our beachy design touches, bringing blues from the ocean and yellows from the sun throughout. After traveling internationally for many years, we found inspiration from the Mediterranean and tried to bring that here to you.
We are less than a 15 minute walk to some of the best restaurants, the marina for fishing tournament weigh-ins & charters AND the beach; while still being in a quiet, quaint neighborhood. Two miles from the OC boardwalk, 10 mins from Berlin & less than 15 to Assateague. Community pool is 5 minute cycle or a 2 minute car ride from Memorial Day to Labor Day. In the prime summer months, we have Saturday - Saturday weekly rentals, but in the spring & fall, we typically will host for 3 nights at a time. You will absolutely love your stay at Casita de la Play! We are looking forward to having you!
I am a full-time international pet-sitter, originally from MD, USA, where I spend my summers in Ocean City. My partner of 14+ years & I have been FT nomads for 7+ years now and we love meeting new people.
My mom and I have an Airbnb in a cute beach town back at home. I am used to anticipating others’ needs from being a nurse for over a decade & being a house-sitter. I know what I like when traveling and strive to provide that same experience to my guest.
We love to travel together and stay in Airbnbs all over the world. My mom is a local real estate agent so she knows everything there is to know about homes and our town. We are well-connected in the area, we can tend do anything & get things resolved very quickly. We love meeting new people, but also respect our guests' privacy by providing self check-in, unless otherwise requested.
We are, of course, available at anytime to respond by a message or phone call to our guests. We also live less than a mile away from our beach cottage. We do have keyless entry, so anytime from 4pm on they can let themselves in with the code we provide. If guests choose not to see us, that is totally fine, but if they'd like us to swing by, we most certainly can!
Our neighborhood is quaint & quiet. Our cottage is the perfect location to be close to everything, but not completely in it, where you have to worry about having some peace & quiet, too. We have so many recommendations of places nearby, but the closest is a bar & grill pretty much at the top of the street (Shotti's), so like a couple minute walk, that would be a super close & easy place to grab a bite to eat. But as we said previously, there are so many great restaurants & bars within walking & biking distance, so you really won't need to drive unless you want to.
Stinky Beach is the closest beach (it’s not actually stinky lol, Homer Gudelsky Park on the map, a locals’ spot, which is about a 15 minute walk, 4 min cycle or 2 min drive. OC beach, it’s 2 miles away, so say a 40 min walk, 10 min cycle or a 5 min drive (if no traffic). You can also walk about 10 mins to the park and ride or drive 3 mins to it, park for free, and then take the shuttle over to OC beach for a couple of bucks depending on if it’s a holiday or not. Then there’s the beautiful parks of Assateague, where you will most likely see ponies, 10 min drive away, State Park pass included.
