If you're looking for sleek and modern, this is not the house for you; cozy, romantic and authentic: yes. This house is very comfortable with a woodstove in the livingroom, all amenities in the kitchen and a clawfooted tub and separate shower in the bathroom. It is an old farmhouse and so it has some quirks, mainly a steep staircase to the second level and a pitched roof in the bedrooms upstairs. For taller people, there is a bedroom downstairs as well. The porch overlooking the garden is one of our favorite places to be in the summer. There's a table to have dinner outside, as well as a charcoal barbecue. While the house can accommodate 6, we reserve that number preferably for families. This house is not suitable for party weekends or larger gatherings. For holiday weekends we prefer a three-night stay. Please note there is no central air conditioning; the house is protected by trees and mostly stays cool; there are plenty of fans. There's a tv operating on Roku in the big bedroom.

Plenty of great restaurants, Rodgers Book Barn (look it up, fantastic) access to many cultural outlets, Warren Street in Hudson, The Mahaiwe Theater in Great Barrington, Tanglewood and Jacob's Pillow. A great swimming hole at Bash Bish Falls, horseback riding, a fantastic rail trail for biking.
