This is a private bedroom in a shared A-frame home on North Whidbey Island. You’ll have your own queen bed and a peaceful space to unwind. The bathroom is shared and located just down the hall. There is one other guest room in the house that may also be booked, so you may meet fellow travelers — hikers, sailors, wanderers, people here for work or for a reset. Everyone gets space and respect.
✈️ Important Note About Sound: The house is about 10 minutes from NAS Whidbey, and fighter jets do fly overhead on training schedules. Some guests enjoy the intensity and uniqueness of it — it’s undeniably impressive to see and hear — but others may find the noise loud at times. If you’re sensitive to sound or looking for absolute stillness, this may not be the best fit. If you’re the type that can roll with the rhythms of a real working island, the jets become part of the atmosphere — a reminder there’s a big sky just above the trees. The home has that A-frame openness — tall ceilings, natural light, and the kind of quiet that returns once the jets leave the air. Shared spaces (kitchen, living room, deck, yard) are kept clean, calm, and easygoing. Make coffee, cook, read, and relax.
I love the quiet here — the trees, the ocean wind, the way people show up and settle down. This place isn’t a hotel. It’s a clean, relaxed, real home. If you’re kind, chill, and respectful, you’ll feel instantly comfortable here. The island works its magic. Always has. This place is simple, peaceful, close to the trails, and filled with good energy. I host because I like sharing that feeling. I host because everyone deserves a reset. Fresh air, tall trees, saltwater, coffee on the deck, and zero judgment. This house is for those who appreciate nature, curiosity, and being at ease in their own skin.
North Whidbey has that easy, grounded Pacific Northwest feel: tall evergreens, saltwater air, quiet mornings, and trails that start to slow your thoughts down. You’re five minutes from Deception Pass State Park, where you can hike coastal cliffs, wander tide pools, or watch the sunset hit the bridge like a scene from a movie. Cornet Bay and West Beach are close for ocean walks, storm watching, or just letting the day breathe out of your shoulders.
Oak Harbor is 10–15 minutes away for groceries, coffee, pizza, and diner breakfasts.
If you’re up for a scenic drive, the island has a small but genuinely charming wine scene: Whidbey Island Winery, Spoiled Dog, Comforts, and Dancing Fish all make for slow afternoons and good conversation. Head further to Langley for bookshops, tasting rooms, and waterfront wandering.
This is a place to reset, explore, eat well, and get outside.
