Our B&B is situated in a renovated house with a country farm feeling. We have solar power and extra water storage and are almost fully off grid. The 3 guest rooms are situated in one wing of the house, all with their own private entrance from outside. The rooms are modern and light and created with environmentally friendly materials. The ocean can be seen from the breakfast area and our swimming pool area. There are sun loungers and beach towels for your convenience. The B&B is situated in a tropical garden with big trees, flowers and palm trees and is very secluded. The area (Freeland Park) is a quiet and safe neighborhood. Know that the house lies on a small hill so to access the rooms you need to use stairs. Bare Feet is situated 2 streets from the beach, which is a safe 5-minute walk or 3-minute drive. Our B&B is for the one that loves the peace and quiet. Great for businesspeople, but also the ones that like outdoor activities as surfing, diving, mountain biking, hiking, running and golfing. We are not a place for parties.

We have been running a very successful Big Five Lodge in the Greater Kruger Park since 2009 which we sold this year. Although an amazing experience we missed the ocean. After 2 years of searching for a "holiday house" we found this Old Grand Lady, but she was too big to be only a holiday house. That is when we decided to move, renovate and start a B&B. We are known for our personal service, our eye for detail and to go the extra mile to make our guests feel at home away from home. We are experienced divers, so can join you on a dive. We can give you advise about running, hiking and mountain biking trails. We are nature lovers and care about our planet, organizing regular clean ups and trying to make a difference in this world.

Bare Feet Retreat B&B is conveniently situated near the N2 Dududu turn off, 60 km South of Durban. The neighborhood (Freeland Park) is a quiet family orientated neighborhood and has great big trees and overlooks the Indian Ocean. From our B&B you can walk or drive to Scottburgh main beach known for its green lawn. If you like more peace and quiet, you can visit Clanstal beach or head for the rock pools at Rocky Bay. An hour’s drive down South you find Oribi Gorge and Eland Reserve for some nature activities. Looking for some city life? Take the N2 north and explore the boulevard of Durban and Umhlanga, visit Marine World or walk through the Botanical Gardens. For sports activities there are golf courses, mountain biking and hiking trails, deep sea fishing, surfing and diving.
