This was a beautiful house to stay in. It had a modern , large , clean bedroom & bathroom . You are the only guests , and there is lovely staff to help with luggage , do laundry & serve breakfast . The host is great & also very helpful . The western breakfast was delicious ! The house is in a residential neighbourhood , with good security .

Janaka is THE host—truly exceptional in the hospitality scene in Sri Lanka. He is incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel completely at home, while also being highly professional and attentive to all our needs. He went out of his way to help us plan our days in Mihintale exactly as we wished—and what he managed to organize for us was no small feat! He was also genuinely concerned for our safety throughout our stay: while Sri Lanka is a very safe country, his attentiveness was still much appreciated. The food cooked by his wife was amazing—made with quality ingredients, prepared beautifully, and full of bold, authentic flavor. Easily one of the top three meals we had in Sri Lanka. If you're planning a trip to Anuradhapura or Mihintale to explore the sacred Buddhist sites, and you're looking for something authentic and off the tourist trail, stay in Mihintale. It's rich with temples and spiritual atmosphere. Stay at Janaka’s place, ask him for advice, and you won’t be disappointed.

Excellent stay, very nice area and super helpful stuff. I would definitely come back again if I would look for a hotel in Anuradhapura.

White House Hotel Anuradhapura is a like five stars in hospitality, including rooms, food, location, premises and staff. The restaurant offers a delicious set menu and a buffet with local and international food. Reserve half board/breakfast and dinner, or have breakfast included. The breakfast buffet with fresh omelettes, juice and some sri lankan foods was a highlight. I also enjoyed a delicious dinner by the pool with a special menu, which I highly recommend. The views of the mountain and stupa and anuradhapura city, and I mean it, are truly stunning. The pools are perfectly maintained, and the staff is helpful and happy. The pools are great, and one has a bar. The pools are good for swimming and there are a kids pool The hotel offers a perfect blend of convenience and tranquillity, ensuring a memorable stay. I stayed in their Honeymoon Room and It was wonderful I would like to recommend this room all of married couples for a one day in life. I look forward to returning soon!

Still very good to reach by tuk tuk, by train: from Colombo to Jaffna stop Parasanfaswewa - railwaystation S. Titon. Etc. 5 minutes from busstop. From Anuradhapura busstation bus no 861. Stop Paradanjaswewa, Jambirija Swewa road. Or bus nr 161. Busstop Village Garden Inn, Ithalakotiyawrwa. More information to get from host 071-3121570 (0094). If you stay a week or more a kitchen can be used. Every day around 18.00 hours you can see elephants quite nearby at one of the thee lakes. 2 or 3 or 6. Very exiting. They come to drink water. Lovely hotel set in the middle of the rice fields. Extremely peaceful. Great room, and excellent wifi, I was able to work from this location. Staff very attentive to your needs and well looked after as a female travelling alone. Amazing food prepared by the housekeeper. I extended my stay by 2 nights. I can recommend this accommodation.
