The owner Ai is one of the kindest, coolest humans I've met in Japan. As a solo traveller I couldn't have asked for a better place to base myself to enjoy the snow and Myoko. Baco Myoko has an unassuming facade hiding a relaxed, comfortable haven to kick back in after riding the surrounding mountains. Ai has great knowledge of the area when it comes to eating and good advice on mountains to ski for the current conditions. A great place to meet people if adventuring alone, private onsens, shuttles to the mountains and great breakfasts are all part of the package.I know how hard it is to sort through all the accomodation options in myoko, trust me and stay with Ai for your trip. You won't regret it

The staff are all awesome and they care deeply about the Forest Lodge and their guest experience! The rooms are wonderful, the common areas are super comfortable, with an updated but traditional feel. Beautiful drying room and tuning area in the basement, and everyone is there to ski/ride so you'll get solid tips. They're happy to give you a lift to/from the resort if you don't have a car. The view from the private onsen was really wonderful. Recommended in Myoko!

Dave and Lisa run a warm, welcoming Lodge and work hard to make everyone feel at home. They are great hosts and go that extra mile to make your stay memorable. From the minute we got off the train in Myoko we were looked after. From organizing ski hire and lessons (at last minute), driving us to and from the resorts, to booking and shuttling us to dinner (and even joining us some nights), Dave and Lisa made us feel welcome. We even got a guided off-piste snow boarding tour of Madarao with Dave on a powder day. Kitsune has a relaxed and communal vibe which is in no small part the result of Dave and Lisa's caring approach to their guests. It was a truly unique and unforgettable experience. We will definitely be back Thanks Dave and Lisa.

The rooms were clean, comfortable and warm. Breakfast was great, and the on-site onsen was amazing after a day of skiing on the mountain. The staff were also very helpful and picked us up and dropped us at the station as well. Overall a great stay and I'd definitely come back!

The staff are fantastic, the food was delicious, the room was very comfortable, & the onsen facilities were very nice. The outdoor bath is on the colder side, but the inside bath is nice & warm, so there is a nice difference between the two to try out.
