A free shuttle is available from Yudanaka Train Station, which is a 5-minute drive away. Excellent stay in a traditional Ryokan. The couple running the hotel are absolutely fantastic, offering to drive us to the Monkey Park and collect/drop us off at the train station (a 15 minute walk away) and were very helpful in giving recommendations and informative leaflets about the area. There was a Onsen in the hotel that was private for the guests and the stay also included free use of all 14 public Onsens in the village. The room was enormous with a private toilet and fridge (no shower as this was within the Onsen space). We were worried about the comfort of the tatami mat beds but they were very comfortable. Air conditioning and heating both available in the room. Lovely choice of restaurants in the area and beautiful little village. Breakfast and dinner options available but we did not use this.

The whole stay made us feel warm and welcoming, the hot springs are huge and the view is great. The dinner was sumptuous and the service was attentive.

Some staff spoke English and went out of their way to make the experience memorable. The onsen is natural hot springs with nice sulfur smell. Loved every second of this place. Would happily return.

Among the facilities of this property are a restaurant, free shuttle service and luggage storage space, along with free WiFi throughout the property. Guests can use the hot tub and the open-air bath, or enjoy quiet street views. Omakase dinners and breakfast were absolutely delicious and exceeded our expectations. Location was very close to snow monkey park. Private onsen was a luxurious experience for us in the property itself.

Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a children's playground. Authentic Japanese experience. This is a family-run hotel with various offered services. Ski renting and lesson can be done at the hotel. Ken is truly an amazing teacher. Very patient and encouraging. We booked 3 lessons with him and very satisfied. As for food, we opted for half board option and find that the dinners, in every nights we stayed, are delicious and nutritional. Ski-in/ski-out is very convenient. The ski lift is right in front of the hotel. The Sun Valley area is also great for both beginner and intermediate skiers with green/red/black slopes in one area. On weekdays, there are almost no people there, which is nice if you want to practice or learn to ski. The bus stop to the city and other areas is only 100m away. The 24-h onsen is perfect after a tiring day of skiing. The family's hospitality is unmatched. I broke my glasses and Captain helped me fix them :) they literally have everything. Highly recommend!
