Loved the hotel no elevator but it was the best place I've stayed in Bogotá inside. Now outside is a completely different story. And I was fine but I am a former Second Reconnaissance US Marine. With that said, there was a couple from Spain who did just fine there. They speak fluent Spanish and I do not more like Espanglish. So our experiences are vastly different jajaja I would not walk around this neighborhood unless I was ready to fight so me personally I left. The place I left for was no better just a nice area and all the amenities at the Hotel Estainn were better. If I could have just went and did things this was the place to stay. You can smoke on the roof and they have coffee and an area out back also.

great hotel, comfortable room and everything very clean. hot water, great breakfast and laundry service (if you are traveling a life saver!). also the staff really kind and helpful even if we did not speak the language well, a special thanks to Monica who helped us with the check in, speaking in English. we will definitely come back for our stays in bogota! Affordable price and included breakfast, additional towels were provided and the location was great in terms of being next to a main avenue with a lot of food and market options. Shower had hot water and the soap was in liquid form and came in the exact dosis.
