I wasn’t particularly thrilled with our stay. We arrived, were greeted with faultless service, and were in our room resting within minutes. A little chaos or a delayed check-in would have added some much-needed excitement. The room was spotless and disturbingly quiet. I prefer a bit of noise - doors slamming, muffled conversations, maybe even the occasional argument next door. It helps me relax. Instead, I was trapped in a bubble of oppressive calm. Breakfast was served with a stunning view of the Guggenheim Museum, which was entirely too distracting. Naturally, this made it impossible to fully focus on the excellent food. The location was also far too convenient, with everything just a short walk away. I usually enjoy the challenge of navigating public transport, but here, even that simple pleasure was denied. And, to make it worse, my wife loved it. Now I have to live up to this standard every time we travel.

My particular room was great, I think I had a jr suite. Also and PLEASE note this: I thought I had left my passport at the hotel and came back form airport to find it. One of your staff who was at the front desk, I think his name was Brian (but it may have been Ryan) could not have been even one drop better at helping me find it. He searched the room with me and even called the place I had stayed in San Sebastian to see if I left it there. He should be rewarded as he couldn't have been more fabulous and calming.

Nice and trendy hotel, perfect location, friendly staff. Breakfastformula was nice but pretty stressful for the staff to get in done...but they did it with a smile :)

If you like modern art, this is the place to go in Bilbao.

If you like modern art, this is the place to go in Bilbao. Some of the displays are truly stunning. Catering and seating throughout the site is very limited. Sanitary: there are queues even at the gents! Very noisy due to poor acoustics.

The building is as much an attraction as the art in it. 1...

The building is as much an attraction as the art in it. 1 floor was closed when we visited which was a pity so time your visit well. Take your own headphones to follow the free interactive guide available throughout the museum.

Wasn't inspired by the art inside the museum and wouldn't pay to visit again, but the exterior of the building is beautiful, so different and interesting. Looks different depending on the light and time of day and definitely worth seeing

Leave plenty of time!

Leave plenty of time! The building is vast and the regular collection is scattered over three floors. There is a very pleasant cafe (which you can actually go to without visiting the museum itself). My main reservation is that many of the rooms are not well curated - if you struggle to make sense of the avant garde art of the last 50 years you won't find a lot of help. But you will probably find some works that speak to you even with minimal information.

Incredible however disappointed that there wasn’t more information ie an informative factual video or showcase of the construction process. Considering this icon is of considerable interest to designers and architects cannot believe that there is a lack of architectural guide services offered by the Guggenheim Museum. The audio guide services lacked instructions and was confusing - staff not helpful.

It’s a stunning building both inside and outside.

It’s a stunning building both inside and outside. There’s several different artists and works showcased and the building is utterly perfect for this. The large metalwork installations were incredible. There is some modern art here I’d really have to work at appreciating but it’s a wonderful place to visit.
