Great location right by the Monastiraki Square and subway. Ancient Agora is close by. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The off site breadfast place is by the square and has a wonderful view of the Acropolis. The room is small, but they have everything you need. I like that they provide the water boiler so I can have a cup of tea whenever I want.

The room at the Niche Hotel was clean, the breakfast was excellent, but what I could praise the most is the staff, starting from the reception, through the maids who were always unobtrusive, clean, and greeted warmly, the restaurant staff is extremely friendly, and the bar manager is very kind. A perfect score.

Acropolis

Long before it became known as Bloomfield Falls, this magnificent waterfall was called Wujal Wujal by the indigenous Kuku Yalanji people. Hire a guide and learn why these people still consider Wujal Wujal to be sacred. Or just head down with your 4x4 and a picnic hamper, and have lunch in serious style!

A must to visit, it is climbable, I am 75 and with help from my daughter I made it to just before the top, I'm afraid of heights so didn't make the top with the crowds. Best time to go is 8am, our time was changed to 10am, due to a strike. If you are unable to climb the steps there is a cart that takes you to a lift which takes you to the top.

Go very early in the day, or very late, to avoid the huge crowds. Buy your timed tickets in advance, and they are separate from the museum. The museum is great, but there are several better collections in the center of Athens.

Nice to see but 30 euro is really too much for seing a few stones. Not much left of this area, like most temples of ancient Greece. We were a bit dissapointed. Greeks build an immage on the old history. A lot more labour of reconstruction could be done by escavating areas and putting the pieces together to look more like the original. Visitors should at least be permitted to walk inside the area of the temple.

Ancient wonder.

Ancient wonder. It was a beautiful day when we visited the Acropolis. Majestic structure against blue skies. Tough parts of the monument is under renovation, the pathway for tourists was very well marked. People could walk around find the best photography angels and just soak in the history.

Athens is a wonderful city to visit & explore… however, beware of Rogue Taxi 🚖 drivers! If they don’t display their photo/licence walk away! Even if they put on the “meter” it’s best to ask for a price and not accept an astronomical cost on arrival !🥺 The fare from Airport to Athens is around 50€ NOT 120€ which we were charged by 1 bandit in August! We found a very honest & friendly Taxi driver who spoke English - works for a company called “Athens My Transfer” check it on-line.

I needed a quiet room near the centre of Athens and the room here at 211 was perfect. It faced a back alley, was away from any road. The hotel is on a hill so luckily not many cars nearby like down by the acropolis. Good location for walking on the hill nearby and also close to the metro stops. Breakfast was good.

We had such a wonderful stay at this apartment on Chloridos. The place is cozy, beautifully designed, quiet, and really comfortable. The location is fantastic. just a short walk from the Acropolis pedestrian area and with easy access to the Thissio metro station. The apartment was spotless and welcoming, and the management team was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. My partner and I truly enjoyed every moment here, and we’ll definitely come back to this apartment on our next visit to Athens

"Perfect Location, Breathtaking Views" We had a fantastic stay at this property. The suite was beautiful, clean and very comfortable for our group. The location was perfect for exploring all the sites of Athens. The best part of this apartment is the private rooftop. The view from the roof is spectacular. The highlight of the day was watching the sunset over the Acropolis. Highly recommended!

Not too far from the Acropolis by train either. Great communication with the host. Loved it!

Booked an Acropolis View room and the view is lovely. It's all about the view, both from the room and rooftop breakfast room. Probably the best view we got of the Acropolis while in Athens. Can also walk to the Acropolis entrance in a few minutes. Plaka, excellent tourist area a few minutes walk away. All in all an excellent location. Nice breakfast range for a 3 star hotel too. Go beyond the Acropolis and explore the Agora and Kerameikos, imagining yourself entering Athens along the road from the port of Piraeus, and following the Panathenaic Way to the Akropolis. Stop at the museums along the way to understand the significance of each site. Then visit the National Archaeological Museum to see that classical Athens is just one of Greece's many magnificent cultures.

If you want to avoid crowds while seeing the famous sights, start out early and be at the sights when they open. I arrived at the Acropolis around 8:10 AM and there were only around 20 people on the whole compound. It was wonderful! There was a crowd climbing the hill when I descended, though!

Consider visiting Athens in May or September.

Consider visiting Athens in May or September. May is just lovely. Spring flowers like poppies and daisies cover the hills. It's not too busy and not too hot. Remember that on holidays you are always moving so consider the weather when you make your plans. Also, research opening hours as the Acropolis is closed May 1; and other Ancient Landmarks are closed on certain days and on certain hours any other day.
