The bed was very comfortable, the room was spacious and had a tea table and a couch. It even had an area/room for the luggages/wardrobe. the toilet was big- a vanity area, separate toilet, shower and a bathtub tub.We booked a 3 single beds corner room which was very comfortable. Absolutely spacious and well thought of design. The breakfast was a good variety of western and Asian cuisine, and had fresh salad, and they also served food that’s locally grown/farmed. Hotel was also environmentally conscious providing refillable stainless water bottles and a water filling station on each floor. The bath products provided were also organic and gentle on the skin and hair. The location was perfect! It is right next to Takashimaya and approx 70 meters away from the main crossing. It’s on the quieter side of the busy area. There is a small grocery on the ground floor selling local and home grown food, and many organic fruits and veggies. The hotel also has a few restaurants. We were only able to try Roku- a ramen place and we really liked it. The patisserie in the hotel was always full- many locals also go there for dessert/tea time. Across the hotel is a famous gyoza place called Chao Chao which always had a long queue. This is the best hotel I’ve stayed in Japan! I’ve been to Japan many times and I highly recommend this if you’re going to Kyoto and want to be centrally located. I will stay in this hotel again when I go back to Kyoto. The staff are very helpful, warm and friendly. They helped me in making a reservation for the airport bus from Kyoto to Kansai airport in Osaka. They also booked a van taxi for us since there were 3 of us with luggages.

    Very easy to find and use. We never saw any staff yet everything was crystal clear and easy from the time we arrived. A masterclass of unmanned hotel service. The room was pretty spacious considering other Japanese apartments. There was a laundry machine (in Japanese but with a bit of help from chatgpt very straightforward to use) which did help a lot since we stayed there round the middle of or Japan trip. Generally a good experience and the hotel was in a pretty good place relatively close to nishiki market.

    This is a stunning hotel located in the most convenient location imaginable. The staff were very friendly and helpful with recommendations and information about Kyoto. They also host a free happy hour for drinks each day, which is a lovely way to start your evening in Kyoto. A subway station at the doorstep of the hotel entrance, and also a short walk to Pontocho area and Nishiki Market. The rooms were spotless and very well equipped, and way more spacious than we had hoped for. Highly recommend

    The Grand Reverie hotel was immaculate - it is indeed a hidden gem. When we arrived we were upgraded to a superior double room, which was more like a suite being spacious and beautifully furnished. The staff were helpful and of course so polite. Location was great, within a 5 minute walk to Karasuma Oike station and the buzzing Nishiki Market.

    Everything. I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights, then left for one night and came back to Il Verde hotel for extra 2 nights. The staff is super helpful, breakfast is good, there's a happy hour every day. Location is great: not too far from the station (i used it as base for day trips to Osaka and Nara) and also not too far from centre (Nishiki Market is 30 min walking). I'll definitely book it again if I'm back in Kyoto

    I had a wonderful stay at the Gate Hotel Kyoto. The property was very clean and modern, with comfortable rooms and a welcoming atmosphere. The view from the lobby is also very beautiful! Its location was perfect, just a short walk from Nishiki Market and many of the city’s most popular attractions, making sightseeing incredibly convenient. It was also very close to Kyoto Station, which made traveling to other parts of the city quick and easy. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kyoto!

    This is a beautiful boutique hotel that is well kept. It has minimalist Japanese design. Located within walking distance to Nishiki market, a variety of trendy, local designer shops and many good eateries. Staff were friendly and helpful. They have 24h coin laundry too. lI will definitely rebook this hotel when I am back in Kyoto.

    The cold towels and lemon water they gave you when you returned to the hotel in the afternoon. The shuttle that took you to the nearest underground. Good location, quiet neighbourhood, near Imperial Gardens park. Near Nishiki Market 45 min walk. Spacious rooms and veri nice bath and shower. Good breakfast both western and Japanese. Very nice cakes to buy in the afternoon.
