This charming, 19th-century converted farmhouse is just a mile from junction 31 of the M1. It features real log fires, traditional British meals, and bright, elegant rooms. We were very happy with the Red Lion. The staff was lovely, everything was spotless, the room was beautifully furnished, the beds comfy, the black-out blind a plus and the bathroom very nice. Security was taken very seriously, which was reassuring. The breakfast was excellent. Freshly cooked to order and absolutely delicious. We much prefer this system to a buffet and it saves on wastage. All in all an exceptionally good stay.

I chose this apartment because of its location and comfort. I needed a place to relax for a couple of days away from London. It was like a dream. From the terrace you can hear the springs flowing. And if you’re up early on a Sunday you can enjoy a peaceful quiet morning. It is ideal if you like walking as there are plenty of parks and green spaces near by. The host was very helpful and I really do not have all the words to describe the beauty of the place and the quality of the apartment. I intend to book future stays and would strongly recommend this place. Thank you very much!

Jane met us on arrival and had already been so kind and helpful with our booking. The house is beautifully situated and perfectly clean and well equipped. Lovely treats were left for us in the kitchen and the cottage was decorated for Christmas. During the week our hosts checked on us without intrusion and mentioned a local event we might enjoy.
