This was our fourth trip to Japan and we've stayed in many ryokans. This is one of our favorites. The space we stayed at was huge. It was a two-story stand alone building. The seats looked out onto the courtyard with a pond and a lot of trees, which was very peaceful. I'm usually not the type to stay in my hotel/ryokan all day, but this place tempted me to do so due to the serenity of the courtyard. There were two private onsen that were easy to access due to the small number of guests that stay here. The food was fabulous. While walking around one morning I found a hiking trail that led up to castle ruins. The next morning I hiked up to the ruins and down the other side and came out near the Moss Land.

Our room was fantastic, with a large sitting area, separate sleeping area with comfortable beds and private outdoor onsen. Staff were uniformly friendly, helpful and polite. Our meals were excellent and very filling. Each large window in our room looked out on different areas of an impeccably designed garden. We are already planning our next visit.

Onyado Nono Matsue Natural Hot Spring se 4 hvězdičkami se nachází v destinaci Macue. Hosté mají k dispozici restauraci, bar, saunu a termální koupel. Na místě je k dispozici soukromé parkoviště. Stayed 2 days at the hotel and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff. They even had a English speaking staff to assist foreign tourists. I really felt "omotenashi" during my stay here. The facilities were great too and I'm so happy that they had free washing machine. You just needed to pay another 100 yen to dry your clothes for 20 mins. It was great that you could enjoy the onsen, wait for your laundry to finish, then enjoy the free ice-cream or probiotic drink after the onsen. Had breakfast during the New Year period and the food was great. There was a change in the menu on day 2, so I was impressed.

Matsue New Urban Hotel se nachází v dobré lokalitě ve čtvrti Matsue Shinjiko Onsen v destinaci Macue. Super clean and very reasonably priced. Comfortable room. Easy to check in and out at the kiosk. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. As for the location, it was easy to walk (10 to 20 minutes) to several attractions: the castle, a tatami workshop, history museum and a soy sauce brewery. Also, several excellent restaurants were nearby.

Fantastic hotel in a lovely little town. Both the hotel, and Tsuwano itself, exceeded all expectations. I travel around slightly-off-the-beaten-track spots like this in Japan a lot and try to find charming little ryokans or minshukus that are value for money. Don't think I've ever found a better one than this. From the entrance it is clear you're entering a place that's punching above its weight. It looks much nicer than you'd expect for the price. Turned up early and the friendly staff were more than happy to let me check in early and make use of the facilities which include a very nice little rooftop bath (rotenburo) and - remarkably - free drinks, including whiskey and shochu, in the little area on the ground floor from 5pm. The hotel place was spotless (it looks very new) and the Japanese-style breakfast was very nice indeed. I'l definitely visit Tsuwano again one day, and I'll definitely stay here.

MASCOS HOTEL Masuda Onsen se nachází v Masudě a poskytuje ubytování s wellness centrem a soukromým parkovištěm. Ikoji Sesshu Garden je 3,2 km daleko. Everything. The reception area , bar/restaurant area ( absolutely no food smell whichever fantastic!! ) and the Onsen area are lovely. Our room was fantastic, super clean, all you need and very stylish and the bed super comfortable. Wonderful linen and amenities with a thoughtful concern for the environment. The people are just all lovely, very helpful and very well organised . Many thanks again to everyone for the fantastic and very kind service 🙏🙏🙏. Lovely food and also a nice variety of drinks with a focus on local which is fantastic. Location perfect ! Absolutely perfect hotel !

Onsen Guest House Aobato no Su se nachází v Matsue, jen pár kroků od Tamatsukuri Onsen, a nabízí bezplatné Wi-Fi ve všech prostorách. Na místě je soukromé neplacené parkoviště. Great little onsen ryokan. Very nice lounge and they provide yukatas. Staff was exceptional, there was an elderly man who was manning the counter at night and he does samisen and Japanese folk performances every now and then. Was blessed to have witnessed a short performance by him. Would definitely recommend. Hots springs were excellent. Not too hot and perfect to soak in after a long day. Stayed in the super single room which was basically just a bed and some space. Was perfect as I didn't carry much luggage, but for those who have large trolley bags this is not the room for you.
