The mattress and pillows were extremely comfortable, so I slept like a baby every single night. The room was also super nice with the tatami flooring. Very cosy. Actually the whole place feels cosy and helps relax. The free half ramen every evening was also a very nice touch. Also this hotel is very conveniently located: it's close to Matsue Castle, close to the Shimano Art Museum, close to locations where you can take beautiful pictures of the sun setting on lake Shinji, close to ferry terminals to go on lake Shinji, close to Matsue Shinjiko Onsen Station from where you can take the local Ichibata trains to places like Izumo or Matsue Vogel Park.

This was our fourth trip to Japan and we've stayed in many ryokans. This is one of our favorites. The space we stayed at was huge. It was a two-story stand alone building. The seats looked out onto the courtyard with a pond and a lot of trees, which was very peaceful. I'm usually not the type to stay in my hotel/ryokan all day, but this place tempted me to do so due to the serenity of the courtyard. There were two private onsen that were easy to access due to the small number of guests that stay here. The food was fabulous. While walking around one morning I found a hiking trail that led up to castle ruins. The next morning I hiked up to the ruins and down the other side and came out near the Moss Land.

Our room was fantastic, with a large sitting area, separate sleeping area with comfortable beds and private outdoor onsen. Staff were uniformly friendly, helpful and polite. Our meals were excellent and very filling. Each large window in our room looked out on different areas of an impeccably designed garden. We are already planning our next visit.

Great location right beside the main train station with lots of restaurant options, convenience stores, and souvenir shops nearby. The parking was a lot beside the hotel with in and out privileges added to your room bill (1100 yen for 2 nights) and no issue finding a spot even when the hotel was busy. The points the hotel excelled at were the staff, the onsen was amazing, the breakfast was substantial for the price and excellent quality but the free items exceeded my expectations. Free probiotic yogurt drink in the morning, free popsicles in the afternoon & evening, free coffee, and the evening free ramen was excellent. My wife who is Japanese said the ramen was perfect. I have no hesitation recommending this hotel and Dormy Inn.

The reception area , bar/restaurant area ( absolutely no food smell whichever fantastic!! ) and the Onsen area are lovely. Our room was fantastic, super clean, all you need and very stylish and the bed super comfortable. Wonderful linen and amenities with a thoughtful concern for the environment. The people are just all lovely, very helpful and very well organised . Many thanks again to everyone for the fantastic and very kind service 🙏🙏🙏. Lovely food and also a nice variety of drinks with a focus on local which is fantastic. Location perfect ! Absolutely perfect hotel !

Onsen Guest House Aobato no Su se nachází v Matsue, jen pár kroků od Tamatsukuri Onsen, a nabízí bezplatné Wi-Fi ve všech prostorách. Na místě je soukromé neplacené parkoviště. The breakfast was really good and the employees were kind. The small onsen was also geat-- it was clean. If you stay for more that 3 days you can get a free performance of a traditional Shimane instrument. The location is about 20 minutes away from Tamatsukuri onsen station but it's near a cafe and other restaurants.
