Such a fantastic taste of paradise. Everything at subtropica is done with love and skill. The breakfasts are superb, the pool is crystal clean and perfect temperature, the grounds are gorgeous with healthy beautiful plants growing everywhere. We were lucky enough to meet the owner Antonio, who helped us fulfill all our plans in mindo! Thank you!

The property is spectacularly set within a natural jungle in the cloud forest. The host, Giovanny is wonderfully responsive and friendly. The property is immaculately maintained and very comfortable. We had a beautiful 4 day stay in our dome on the hill. The property is very quiet and peaceful. Transportation to and from the center of Mindo and to attractions is very easy and affordable by taxi. Giovanny was very helpful in arranging anything we needed during our stay and he had really great suggestions for our time in Mindo. He offered transportation to and from Quito at a very reasonable rate and we took him up on the offer. He provided a very comfortable and enjoyable ride from Quito to the property and he even made a stop for us at the center of the world. We would definitely come back and stay again.

Margarita and her team are exceptional. Welcoming. Attentive. Informative. The location is excellent. The open restaurant looks into the jungle garden with large numbers of colourful birds. The place is modern. They arranged trips for us. We booked three nights but ended up staying five nights and were reluctant to leave. The entire Mindo experience was wonderful. Small friendly town, accessible cloud forest activities.

Being located away from town and right in the middle of nature, the property brings us away from the distractions of everyday life and back to the simplicity and beauty of nature. Lovely, large and modern apartment, which was spotlessly clean, in an excellent, quiet location near Mindo town centre. It is in a safe and secure complex, looked after by the manager Ronny, who was really lovely. Nothing was too much trouble for him, and he was always around to let us in or out, including for our early morning starts for bird watching trips at 5am! We had the "family apartment with balcony" which provided a relaxing private sitting area, overlooking the peaceful inner courtyard, which has a small pool. The apartment also had a kitchen with a 4 gas burners, a microwave oven and large fridge freezer, as well as flatware, and a few cooking pans and utensils. The kitchen was very handy for us to prepare meals, although the complex does offer breakfasts to purchase. In Mindo, there is a mini-market 5 minutes walk from the hotel which sells a good range of food and alcohol, and many other shops as well.
