I loved staying in the middle of Patan, high up overlooking the temple roofs and the valley. The hosts were very attentive and kind. The apartment was comfortable, well equipped, with a touch of traditional style. They had great wifi and a battery for powercuts which allowed to work online comfortably.

Very clean bedsit apartment with all you need to stay. Neighbourhood is non-touristy but lots of small shops and stalls, and you can walk down to Patan restaurants in less than 10 mins. I would dock a point or two because the apartments all face the (not very busy) back-street and it's a little noisy if you're a light sleeper as it's single-glazed. But the staff were so nice and helpful, I'll bump the score back up to a nine.

I've stayed at this hotel several times and always had a good experience. The hotel offers free airport pickup with EVs, which is nice. The rooms are clean, well-equipped, and feel secure — from the toothbrush to the weight scale and iron, everything is neatly provided. It’s also pleasantly quiet both day and night, and the Wi-Fi works reliably. The neighborhood has plenty to explore, including a zoo, a local craft beer bar, several good restaurants (including an Italian one), and a bike rental shop nearby.

Sichu Chhen is located in Patan , 5 minutes walk from the Patan Durbar historical area. Although there are numerous coffee shops and restaurants nearby there is very little by way of outside noise. Certainly it is peaceful in comparison to hotels in Thamal. The room was modern with excellent WiFi and very comfortable. Breakfast was good and included in my room rate. The staff too are excellent and can provide recommendations for sightseeing and anything else. Overall this is the perfect choice for convenience and for the traveller who values a peaceful and comfortable stay.

Staying with Shila and her family has been the highlight of our trip to Nepal. It was like we were adopted into the family--we all had tears when it was finally time to leave. Shila was truly like our Nepali mum and was so caring, loved chatting and made extra sure we had everything we needed. The room was SO cozy and felt like our bedroom at home. Our balcony overlooked the square and we were lucky enough to see some local celebrations while sipping our coffee. The homestay is located right by the museum and there was the perfect little coffee shop next door. I truly cannot recommend this place enough. Shila we love you! We'll come back to say hi whenever we're back in Kathmandu :)
