The hotel grounds were spectacular, and the location was perfect for many activities in the area - we especially enjoyed exploring along the river and nearby trails, and it was a short drive to some incredible beaches. The food, service, and rooms were absolutely top notch, and we would absolutely recommend this hotel!

Masaya Casas Viejas se nachází 30 minut jízdy autem od města Minca v regionu Magdalena 4x4 nebo motocyklem a 12 km od města Santa Marta. Nabízí terasu a výhled do zahrady. Na místě je bar s terasou. Wow! what a location; it’s an adventure gettimg there…but absolutely worth it. Solo traveler; the Masaya team does a great job w activities, chill music, places to be solo and place to be w others, communal later dinners, and just very cheerful folks who take care of the lodge, the food, and the folks to a recognizable degree. GRACIAS, Masaya Casas Viejas. When I return to the coast ..I will be back.

This is a hostel directly located on a beautiful beach about 15km from the historic centre of Santa Marta and approximately half way between the airport and downtown Santa Marta. My room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed, efficient fan and excellent bathroom facilities. The hostel was quiet at night so I always had a good night’s sleep. The staff at the hostel was courteous and helpful and some were English speaking. The hostel included a casual beach front restaurant that served excellent meals that were fresh and delicious and included several vegetarian options. I would definitely stay here again when in the Santa Marta area.

Activities for children are organised.... It has everything in one place. The staff is wonderful and very customer oriented. The nights are super fun full with entertainment and the days are full with activities for everyone.

The last year I went with my family and It was really good. Then I came back this year. I love that the people is very kind and warm. The place is close to the airport, it's nice and you feel secure. The beach is only few steps from the hotel, with a calm and wonderful sea. I enjoy the food from the hotel's restaurant. For me is important not only a tasteful food, but also well prepared. The menu offers several options. I recommend it. Also the breakfast is super!. The pool after a day in the beach is great. The hotel's personal call you by name, and they are always with a smile. I hope to come back again with my family the next year.

Everything about this place was amazing. The place is picture perfect, the food is great and the staff are friendly and accommodating! We also added a massage to our stay which was amazing. Everything including the price exceeded expectations

El Santuario was the perfect home base for exploring Minca! Nora and José Luis have obviously put a lot of love into their hotel- they were exceptionally kind and provided us with everything we needed during our stay. We split three rooms between 5 friends, which was totally comfortable for us. We started every morning taking in the stunning views while enjoying a delicious home cooked breakfast- the birdwatching is unparalleled to any place I’ve visited before! It’s a quick 10 minute drive to the center of Minca- we had a car, but the hotel will happily arrange a mototaxi for you, which I took advantage of as i chose to stay an extra night after my travel mates departed. We ended our evenings using the ample common areas to sip tequila and reflect on our adventures. The evenings were cool enough that we wouldn’t have used a/c even if it was available. Of course there are some bugs, but what else would you expect staying in a rustic town in the middle of the jungle?? Other reviewers noting this as a con are obviously unused to accommodations that strive to be as ecologically mindful as possible to their natural environments.
