Best place I have stayed in in Japan so far! It has a super cool vibe with a cozy working space filled with personal touches, perfect for relaxing or catching up on any work. It was designed by the owner and you can see the personal care behind it. Bunks in dorms are clean, spacious and super cozy with the wooden aesthetic. The staff was so welcoming and generous, it was great to be able to meet them as a solo traveller and made it feel like I was staying with friends. Walking distance to train station and large supermarket only 10 mins away. I wish I could have stayed longer and I will come back here if I come back to Shikoku.

Hidden gem on the Shikoku pilgrimage route. The owner Mari speaks fluent English and she goes out of her way to serve the guests. I’ve enjoyed my stay thoroughly. Comfort, location, amenities, owners were helpful, responsive and friendly. Had a great stay in a beautiful area, close to lots of sights in Iya Valley! Would recommend at least two nights to get the most out of the accommodation and area

Helped us plan activities around shimanto and get reservations for dinner — and his recommendations were excellent. (Ask him about kayaking and the riverside sauna!) The house was very charming and the location beautiful. Would recommend at least 2 nights.

EkimaehouseSamaru se nachází v destinaci Shimanto-cho. Kaiyodo Hobby Museum Shimanto je 13 km daleko a Monjudo Temple 24 km. Host is friendly and helpful,and he gifted me a cup noodle after marathon while all around is close. Train station and parking is just across the street. House is old Japanese style but clean.Bed comfortable.

We rented a car at Kochi Ryoma Airport. The guesthouse was conveniently located near the airport and the freeway, making it easy to access our destination, Dogo Onsen. Initially, I was concerned about parking, but the guesthouse was on a wide road, which is important to know when renting a car in Japan. It was simple to maneuver in and out of the parking spaces located behind the house. The guesthouse was in the town of Noichi, where we enjoyed delicious meals at nearby restaurants. Additionally, its central location between my two other destinations, Kochi-shi and Aki-shi, meant that I didn't have to drive a lot in one day. Our host, Kyoko-san, was incredibly friendly and kind. Since it was the off-season, she gave the three of us two rooms, which allowed for a comfortable stay. I slept well during our time there. Unfortunately, I lost a hubcap from the rental car—it's a long story. On our departure morning, Kyoko-san went out of her way to prepare breakfast for my son and me. After saying our goodbyes, Kyoko-san called to inform us that my son had left his passport and charger behind. She kindly brought them all the way to the airport for us. Overall, I felt that the guesthouse was truly a home away from home.

The location was absolutely stunning. It's so remote you feel like you might be the only person there. The house was beautiful with great facilities. And the host was super friendly and helpful.
