Free bikes so we could go into Utende which is 10 minutes away. Very nice gardens and grounds. Comfortable and nicely decorated rooms. Great food and juices. Only 2 rooms so feels boutique.

This is a very new place focussing on diving excursions with two very well equipped cabins. It is situated in the beautiful marine park area where scuba diving is exceptional. The area is not overrun by tourists and the cabin is a very cosy and restful place. Enjoy one of the evening cocktails, prepared by the friendly staff or relax at the poolside. The small resort arranges shuttle service to and from the airport.

Hotel room was clean and comfortable. Pool was great and plenty of lounge chairs with sun and shade. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast made to order and plentiful. Dinners also tasty.

We traveled to Mafia Island specifically to see the whale sharks. We went out the first day with a highly rated local tour company and did not see any whale sharks which was unusual. The next day we decided to go out with Hassan, the manager at Maisara Mafia Beach Lodge. Hassan was determined and we did in fact see whale sharks!! Hassan took such good care of us. I was so happy to see the whale sharks but I was getting tired after a few swims so I was content to stay in the boat and let my family continue swimming. After resting a bit, Hassan jumped in to see if it was a good view for me. He came back to the boat and let me know it was a great view if I was up to swimming again. I jumped back in and had the very best time! I cannot say enough good things about Hassan and everyone at the Lodge. They are all so kind and helpful. I also highly recommend the massages at Maisara Mafia Beach Lodge. Thank you Hassan and everyone at the Lodge.

We had a marvellous stay in paradise! Thank you Mussa, Arza and Yazer (sorry for misspelling) for a perfect relaxing week and taking care of us with great hospitality. We felt like friends not like guests. Our hut was always clean and had electricity and hot water at any time. It is 10 steps to the beach. Fan and moskito net are provided. Every night a very romatnic atmosphere with bonfire on the beach. Fresh coconuts are served as well as cocktails and soft drinks for very fair prices! The best at last: Take every chance to eat dinner or lunch here, the food is outstanding and very fair prices, you get fresh fish from the daily fish market well prepared. Also, plan the whale shark and other excursions directly with Mussa, he will organize a wonderful experience, also with grilled lunch, Thank you for everything, we will keep this week in a beautiful memory and wish you all the best.

The location itself is very nice, staff and owners are very friendly, the whaleshark tour was good (the weather was bad and we didn't see whalesharks but they really tried their best).

I absolutely loved my stay at Basecamp and can’t wait to return. The hotel is beautiful and the service of the staff exceptional. They can’t do enough to make guests feel comfortable and accommodated for. The rooms are stunning, overlooking the beach and the pool and restaurant areas are a great place to relax. For divers there’s a dive shop within a minute’s walk and for non divers alternative excursions from the hotel. A wonderful place to stay for some quiet time on a white sand beach.
