The staff were amazing, the “guest quarters” with board games and unlimited pick n mix was such a nice touch and the food was delicious!!! The room was amazing we stayed in the “Light Speed” room.

Located on Princes Street, The Balmoral has a 4 AA Rosette restaurant, a pool and a gym. Waverley Station and Edinburgh's main shopping area are within 5 minutes' walk. Upon checking in we will a really get so welcome. Checking is was breeze. The hotel is so nice from the exterior to interior to the room and the staffs especially the housekeeping.

Walk outside the door and you have the view of the castle. WOW! Had some trouble getting into the luggage room, I rang the owner and he sorted it straight away. If I come back to Edinburgh, I don’t want to stay anywhere else this was perfect! I would recommend everyone to stay here.

The communication leading up to and during the stay was uncomplicated, and she was always there to help - way beyond any usual "host duties"! When, in the last days of our stay, our flight got pushed to a very late departure time and on top of it I got sick and was not up to running around town with all our luggage, she did everything to help us find a solution. We were able to stay longer in the flat, and she also gave us useful advice on where you can find a quiet place around the airport and so on. The flat itself is cosy, roomy and has a lot of storage space, which we appreciated very much since we had a lot of luggage (road trip beforehand) and were staying for a whole week. It was nice that the rooms are separate, and you can close the door on any one of them. So, if you, for example, want to sleep in, but your partner is an early bird, this is totally possible in this space. What I LOVED about the flat was that we were able to have breakfast or afternoon tea in the garden. That was special. Regarding the location, you could easily walk from the city centre to the flat in about 30 minutes, which was really nice for us, since we like to walk a lot on city trips. Edinburgh is perfect for that. Nonetheless, going into the city we more often took the bus since it's a lot quicker, and we wanted to avoid the uphill walk. There are several lines stopping near the flat, so it was really convenient. The tram is about a 10 min. walk away, but usually the buses were the better choice for us. There are also a lot of grocery stores, fabulous bakeries and even a little vegan shop nearby. This was perfect for us, since we usually had breakfast and dinner in the flat. All in all, I can wholeheartedly recommend staying at Janeanne's place. We had a great time!
