The swimming pool is really nice. The location is great for walks in the hills and forests. The little town has what you need and is nice and quiet. Within 15 minutes car drive there are lots of natural beauty spots and viewpoints. The owners are a really nice couple who live on the ground floor of the house. The upper two floors consist of two flats. We like the one at the top, which has fantastic views from the balcony. If you have young children, then the loft playroom is absolutely wonderful, as is the garden with trampoline, hammock and swings.

The accommodation was excellent. Everything was very clean and tidy. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for cooking, even including salt and pepper (which is not always the case). There is also a coffee machine with enough capsules to last throughout our stay. I highly recommend this place—it’s conveniently located close to both the city center and the train station.

Excellent place to camp. The great location made it easy to walk from the camp to various parts of the city. The bathrooms and kitchen were always clean. Despite being located under an overpass, it wasn't loud and we slept well. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We will definitely stay again!

The personnel at Penzion Kamzík are super friendly. They speak both English and German very well and are very courteous and obliging.
The place is lively and we felt comfortable during the whole stay.
Furthermore, the food they served was extremely delicious. We'd go there again :)

The city itself is not exceptional but offers a good base for people who want to visit the surrounding area (Bohemian Switzerland in Czech Republic, Saxon Switzerland in Germany). Less crowded and more affordable than e.g. Bad Schandau on the other side of the border.

Very nice village in the Czech mountains close to the German (former DDR) border. Little fast running river flows through the village, makes the village wonderful and magical. Village has everything you need, shops, supermarkets, gasstation, busstation, even with a direct bus daily to Schmilka at the (east-)German border, trainstation with direct trains to Rumburk (for connection to Bad Schandau, Germany) and Decin. There is a swimming pool, tourist information, many restaurants, 'vecerka' evening shop, walking area.

Hospitality was fine but some things were really amateuristic or even unprofessional, like very bad English and / or German speaking staff.
The restaurant is an absolute no go.
A home made version of mint tea seems to be a tea bag in hot water and home made fries come from the freezer.
Very old fashioned, very limited choices, absolutely nothing available without meat.

Ceska Kamienice is a place to start off some of the hikes in Saxion Switzerland park and mountains. You can take 2 days to hike trails directly from the town. The other interesting starting points for the hikes like Jetrichovice are within ca. 15km by car.
Ceska Kamienice town has nice and less nice corners - new and good looking and messy ones too. It is a rather peaceful sleepy place. We have not explored a lot of places to dine out; on the first glance, there are not too many and if there are it is rather local, so don't forget to take cash in Czech currency with you (cards are not everywhere accepted).

Restaurant Ve dvore in Decin, duck was very nice, didn't care much for the bread dumplings

Hotel restaurant Vypres, very nice.
Getting around in Decin is easy. However, the public transport schedules have changes in certain periods in the year, so read bus schedules carefully, or you might find out a certain bus doesn't ride anymore at a certain time after (f.e. 3 september) a certain date.
Tip for hikers: Google maps isn't very precise with the yellow trail's starting point: to avoid wandering, ask Tourist information the precise starting point!
