The staff was exceptionally helpfull with specific requests for our one year old son. They offered to have our meal packed and sent to the room if our son was too tired to sit in the restaurant. The food was good and the room was as described and spotless. Beds were a bit small and a bit stiffer than we are used to, but that is personal preference.

We received a warm welcome on arrival, and the room was large, immaculately clean and comfortable with tea making facilities and. fridge in the room. Breakfast was freshly prepared and delicious. The receptionist on duty directed us to the local shopping area immediately around the corner where there are a number of good restaurants. There are also plenty of parking spaces on the property. We found that the staff had lots of good recommendations about the area.

Value for money relationship for such a fairy tale property is perfect. This hotel dates back to early 17th century, when you are inside, you have the feeling you're back in time. It even has a chapel. The decoration, well kept from those times, leaves you speachless. Staff was really friendly and professional, dinner and breakfast really good. Another positive point goes to the gym. It was almost bigger and with more gear than my own one.

The breakfast was great, food, staff and dining room was extremely pleasant. I’d been wanting to stay at Shrigley for years and my stay exceeded my expectations. The room with the view overlooking the front was amazing and I particularly enjoyed and appreciated the original features and history of the building it has a real Downton Abbey feel to it. We LOVE Chester.

We LOVE Chester. The shops, the people, the architecture is wonderful. We live in Bournemouth and the high street has lost itself. It’s now just full of coffee shops and derelict buildings. Chester has such life about it. Such a great selection of shops, and we love all the charity shops too! We walk in, but driving in and parking is super easy. There are so many great places to eat too We visited the zoo on our last day and thought wed be done in a couple of hours, but stayed until it shut. So mix to see!

The Dog and Partridge is near to the hotel. Bonus.

The Dog and Partridge is near to the hotel. Bonus. External appearance of Paddington Hotel could be so much improved by some simple gardening. Some easy jet-washing would improve the external walls and general appearance. My stay was a mere 'ok'. I just happened to be in Warrington that night. Customer service was adequate, but below average. My room was functional and everything worked. It gets an 'OK' from me, but I wouldn't take my better half there for all the tea in China!

I went to Crewe to see the local area. I visited Nantwich and Sandbach. Nantwich is a lovely small town, and Sandbach is a bit bigger, both lovely to visit. The Market in Nantwich is lovely to visit, and there are a couple of National Trust places we didn't have enough time to visit, but we will do next time.

There is quite a range of shops along the high street; the surrounding houses and streets are leafy and pleasant. I found a cafe for coffee / cake / light lunch and the staff were extremely pleasant, helpful and friendly. There is quite a lot of traffic which drives through. There are great activities though as I was visiting family I did not wish to pursue them - there seem to be bowls [on a crown green - not ten pin], golf, plenty of Churches. Quarry Bank Mill [NT] is close by.

Runcorn is beautiful and we came to visit relatives. But our stay at the hotel wasn’t worth it. It was old and needs overall revamping. Reception staff was nice but the room was so tiny with AC not working and bed was so uncomfortable. Wouldn’t stay at this property again.
