Very comfortable room with a direct view of the seafront. Good range of cable television options available, more than most other hotels. Location of the hotel was excellent - walking distance to many dining places and also to the town centre. Situated in between the pier and the bandstand which was a treat as we were able to hear the band performance and watch the Wednesday fireworks from our window! Good availability of parking spaces at a very reasonable cost for hotel guests. Staff were very friendly and helpful - Olivia and Glenn deserve a mention and also George, the General Manager. The hotel provides a good discount incentive for future visits - will certainly be tempted to take the offer!

Fabulous room overlooking the pier, given an upgrade as a gesture of goodwill after speaking to receptionist on arrival, otherwise we would have been at the back of the hotel, very obliging receptionist, friendly and polite, explained everything we needed to know and wished us both a pleasant stay, adding if there were any issues regarding our stay to let her know and they would be resolved, but I have to say there were no issues at all. All staff were friendly, polite, and obliging, nothing was too much trouble, if you had questions to ask, they were answered, To summarise my stay, I have to give top marks to everything we encountered at QUEENS HOTEL EASTBOURNE. Fabulous Room with Seaview opposite the Pier. Fabulous Breakfast, Very clean, Outstanding position on the Seafront, All hotel staff impeccable and deserve credit for there service they give to guests. Outstanding!

I was looking for some place to stay for a night after a hike to Seven Sisters. But to be honest, The Sheldon appeared to be not just "some place for a night". They are so much more. This hotel has unique and bright personality, lovely hosts who help you feel very welcome and are there for you to answer any question. Besides, great location, delicious breakfast, affordable price. Hotel has a special charm …the staff are second to none and are consistently helpful, charming and informative. The hotel and rooms are spotlessly clean and really well maintained. It is obviously run so well and is always a pleasure to spend time in. Breakfast was excellent…especially for vegans…and the host was really charming which complimented the service.

Lewes is very good as a place to stay if you are interested in history or just like browsing local shops. It also has excellent railway connections so you can get to Brighton, Hastings, Eastbourne and up into Sussex by public transport. It is hilly and a good base if you want to explore the South Downs by walking. A good range of restaurants, pubs and cafes too.

The spa was very well apportioned and it was very quiet and secluded. The staff throughout the hotel were extremely pleasant. One thing they must do in the restaurant is ensure that the wine ordered has arrived and ready to drink before the food is served. It is not good form to serve the food without the wine bottle even being at the table, let alone not opened.
