Great location and close to many local bars, restaurants and the Main Street. Room was huge by Japan standards, and very clean and space efficient. Staff were so friendly, and shared personal recommendations on what to see and do in the area. Will definitely be staying here again when we’re back in Kyoto.

I stayed at Ibis Style Kyoto Shinjo for four days and definitely enjoyed my stay. Fantastic location, just a short walk to the nearest underground station which takes you to the main commercial area, and a bus stop across the street where you can take buses to most of Kyoto's famous temples and shrines. Also a coffee shop right next door and a lot of convenient stores nearby. Clean and cozy room. Comfort bed for those who prefer a firmer mattress. The room has a fridge and an e-locker. I requested a quiet room and they did give me a quiet room where I was able to have nice sleep every night. Really friendly staffs! I was greeted with warm welcomes :) (I see complaints about room size but I think the single room is just enough for 1 person)

Good: - Blown away by the view! With mountains and river - Love the toiletries they provided. La Mer shampoo/body soap- i like it! Hair feels smooth and good after. - Spacious and clean room - good location! While its not at right smack at the bustling gion area, i very much preferred the short walk back to hotel. Feels serene. Right below, they have a train station and is sheltered (almost) all the way nishiki market! No worries for rain! - underground area has A LOT of things to shop for. Supermarket, local confectionery, restaurants, clothings - very fast response when contacting them online (via booking.com)

The staff was so friendly and helpful, had a small problem with my room, and they immediately took care of the situation. The location is a 10-minute walk to kyoto station. It's also close to a Lawson and a coco curry. Something more I loved about the hotel is the rooms, so spacious and bright. The communal spaces were very nice, too. The lounge area was very pretty and comfortable. We all had a lovely stay at Anteroom! Thank you for having us.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from the main photo , it looks like a shed and I was nervous, but this hotel really is lovely! The photo is of the covered entrance with a function room, the main hotel is behind that facing the tranquil ocean! Our room was gorgeous and waking up to the sound of the gentle waves was glorious. The beds were very comfortable and the room was incredibly spacious. The hot spring was lovely too! Wished we’d stayed longer.

Very helpful and welcoming staff. The location is great because it's just a 15 minute walk from Kyoto Station. Beautiful town.

Beautiful town. Lots to see and do including shrines, seeing the monkeys and great shopping and food. One thing was the the buses don’t run very late so sometimes it was difficult to get home of a night.

We did not know what to expect.

We did not know what to expect. Our visit was in December so it was pretty quiet. We had rain the first day but we were able to do most of the highlights on day 2. We walked the entire beach path had lunch and walked it back. Very nice walk.

The staff was awesome! They did everything in their power to ensure I had a pleasant stay. Room is extremely small by US standards! Room could use a microwave, the only one available was on the ground floor and I was on the 7th.

Kameoka is the starting point of the famous and historical Hozu River rafting ride that takes you to Arashiyama, home of the famous bamboo forest. Enjoy the rafting, enjoy Arashiyama and take the train back to Kameoka. Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the station. A perfect day.

Gionmachi is a wonderful section of Kyoto and offers much to see and experience. It is easy, maybe 15 to 20 minutes taxi to other areas of Kyoto that are also beautiful, historical and traditional. Overall, this is a place I would come back to because I have much more to see.

I stayed for 7 days and travelled with eldery, so i could explore more of kyoto Kiyomizu, fushimi and arashiyama is good but too crowded. What i like is Kurama-dera Temple(Stunning view with lots of maple tree and many site to visit, around 45, and got to experience Eizan Railway that is better and cheaper and longer than arashiyama's sagano train), Daigoji Temple(My mom really liked it as it is calming, not crowded at all and there is garden that is so beautiful), and teamLab Biovortex (definitely a must visit, we liked the ocean section where we can color aquatic animal and it can be scanned so it will move around in the wall!)

Miyazu which includes Amanohashidate, is one of three natural sites in Japan. The land bridge spans across the sea is fun to view from the observation points (on both sides) and you can actually bike (20 minutes) or walk (50 minutes) one way across. A small town with lots of charm and beauty.

I especially recommend it to travelers from overseas. If you are sightseeing in Kyoto, Nara, or Osaka for a few days, staying at this facility and using Kameoka as your base will be the best way to travel to Kansai. Like taking a day trip from your home. If your schedule is 2 nights and 3 days or 3 nights and 4 days, it is definitely a good deal even if you add transportation expenses. You can't stay in a house in Kyoto or Nara.

I loved this hotel!!! The service was outstanding.

I loved this hotel!!! The service was outstanding. The rooms were beautiful and clean. The location was perfect - close to town but not in town. We walked everywhere and felt very safe. Close to the train station as well. I will certainly stay here on my next trip to Kyoto.

Kyoto has so many surprises!

Kyoto has so many surprises! The Kamo River, Pontocho Alley and the gardens were our favorite! So many good restaurants to dine in and it's a very walkable city. So easy to get around. The Fushimi Inari is just a short train ride away. This is a must-visit city in Japan.
