We stayed for two nights and it was a fantastic time. The breakfast and dinner were super delicious and the staff is so friendly and helpful. The also organised us a safari trip to wilpattu and a very nice transfer to negombo. The hotel has a very nice pool, the place is so lovely with a very green and beautiful environment.

Everything! A hidden gem in a charming village near Anuradhapura! With only three beautifully designed cabins, the place feels intimate, peaceful, and truly authentic. The service was exceptional – Madushka made us feel so welcome, and the food by Chef Mathiv and his team was absolutely outstanding. We loved walking through the village, where locals smiled and waved at us warmly. Quiet, authentic, and close to the archaeological sites – highly recommended!

Everything was amazing! Exceptional design of the whole hotel. We have never stayed in such an extremely well designed and well located place (view to the lake)- and even more: in such a „green“ hotel. No plastic!!! Fantastic breakfast and dinner. The staff was amazing and the wonderful manager always around and always trying to fulfill all your wishes! Thank you for everything— and hopefully we will come back!

I immediately felt at home at the Saubagya Inn. Shehan is very nice and really helped me with all my requests (organizing tours, SIM card etc.). The rooms are very big and the bed was very comfortable. The location is also very good and within walking distance there is a pharmacy, restaurants and a supermarket.

The welcome and the service that we received were exceptional - unrivalled by any other hotel visited during three weeks in Sri Lanka. The staff were genuinely happy that we were their guest, and they were not afraid to show it. From the moment we arrived, they did everything and more to make sure that we were comfortable. The central courtyard garden lent the hotel an idyllic cosy community feel and allowed us to feel nicely isolated from the bustle of the streets outside. The pool area was scenic, the pool functional, and there were a bunch of sun beds from which to capture the sun as it moved above the tree line. One of us fell ill during our stay. The manager offered to take us to the hospital, assisted us there, and the entire team attended to us tirelessly day after day - including complimentary afternoon tea in our room. Bicycles were available to borrow to get around and see the various fascinating heritage sites - and we'd really recommend using them! Breakfast was predominantly Euro-continental, incredibly generous, and tastier than anything else we had in Sri Lanka outside of 5* hotels. Dinner was tasty too. The menu was diverse and competitively priced. Table service was exquisite. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and secure. The location was great - perfectly situated for exploring town, set back from the road so as to be silent at night, and with quick access to the lake on foot. A beautiful gaggle of peacocks graces the gardens. The hotel arranged our onward travel to Trincomalee in a comfortable car at a competitive price.

Our stay at this hotel was an excellent experience. The service was incredibly friendly and warm-hearted, making us feel welcome from the very beginning. A special mention goes to Hashani at the reception, whose service really stood out, though the rest of the staff were also lovely and accommodating. Our room was clean and spacious, with a unique touch—a beautiful outdoor shower creatively integrated into the space. We were especially grateful for the unexpected room upgrade, which was a wonderful surprise and made our stay even more memorable. The buffet was excellent, both for breakfast and dinner, offering a wide variety of options to suit different tastes. Everything was fresh and well-prepared, making dining at the hotel a delight. The location was good, especially when traveling with a driver. It made it easy to explore the surrounding areas without any hassle. Overall, our stay was fantastic, and we left with great memories. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others and hope to visit again in the future!

Top notch service. We were welcomed by very friendly staff the moment we arrived at the hotel. Facilities were well maintained, clean and mostly free of insects. We think the hotel puts in a lot efforts into maintenance given its location in nature and the climate. The room is large, functional and aesthetic. You could find most utility items you need inside the room. Environment wise, there were monkeys and birds roaming around the complex!! The staff also did everything they can to accommodate our requests, thank you for the hospitality! The complimentary breakfast has a wide variety of food and is of nice quality. The cocktails in the bar are nice too! The dinner is a bit ordinary in comparison but still nice.

We upgraded to the A-frame tree house with a private pool a few days before arrival, and it was the best decision. The pool was the perfect size to cool off for our family of five. We loved our stay here. While this hotel might be a bit further from Sigiriya, they organised a driver in a safari jeep to take us where we needed to go. We also went on a game drive to a nearby national park, which was amazing; we saw so many elephants. You can walk into some local shops as well. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel, and both were really good—best breakfast we had in Sri Lanka.

We had a great stay at Villu Villa. Located in a quiet area just about 7min away by tuk tuk (300rupies). There's a very good restaurant called Table 9 located within 20min walking distance but they can do delivery as well. The room is great and the swimming pool was the perfect way to end the day. The owners are amazing and super kind! We had an issue with our plans and had to extend our stay, and they were really helpful and kind trying to help us. Definitely recommend staying here! Thanks for everything!

Beautiful place. Isolated from the town but the location is beautiful. You can ride bike around the rice field and lake. If you’re lucky see an elephant. The woman at the elephant centre was very nice and we learnt a lot! I am glad we stop for a chat. The diner experience was amazing! We booked the traditional diner with 27 dishes cooked traditionally in clay pot and open fire. I recommend this hotel!

During my stay, the property owner made several inappropriate and judgmental comments about my affordability and my decision to share meals with my mother, who is disabled. His behaviour was rude and discriminatory. After I posted my review describing my disappointment, the owner contacted me directly on my personal mobile number using very abusive and offensive language. This message was completely unacceptable and made me feel unsafe.

Habarana is a small town located at a crossroads and a main road. It is therefore very accessible to other important cities, such as Polonnaruwa, Trincomalee, Dambulla, Anuradhapura, Sigiriya, etc. As well as to the natural parks, which are located nearby. Public transport is perfectly provided. The town has the necessary facilities such as shops, a bank, a post office, a doctor, etc. The beautiful surrounding nature, and easily accessible lakes, are also an advantage.

Farm Cottage was peaceful and very comfortable. The room was clean and cozy, and the surroundings were quiet and relaxing. The host was friendly and helpful. A perfect place to unwind – I’d definitely stay again!

Anuradhapura is an amazing and spiritual place.

Anuradhapura is an amazing and spiritual place. It's different from the other sites in Sri Lanka because it still attracts so many pilgrims to its religious sites. It's a good idea to dedicate one day to visiting the active pilgrimage sites and the next to the historical sites, for which you need a ticket. Remember to cover up with long trousers and sleeves and don't forget your socks, because the ground is really hot and you have to take off your shoes everywhere. If you have an extra day, you can also return to the sites at night, which is when pilgrims light candles. Make sure you've got the Pick Me app installed and look out for a tuk tuk driver called Nisha. He's absolutely amazing: great driver, kind and attentive and with good English. For dinner, the atmospheric Hotel Shalini is a good bet. The Seedevi family restaurant is another good place. If you want to have a beer, they can put you in a separate 'family' room, or you can go to the tiny 'pub' next door.

Good location to visit the National parks where Elephants roam. Take a short drive to Ritigala and be amazed at the heritage site of a millenia old large forest monastery. Dine at the Ran Rasa restaurant for one of the best Chicken Koththus you will taste..
