We had a warm welcome with tea/coffee offered upon arrival. During the stay the host was very approachable for any questions we had. It’s conveniently located and walking distance to the entrance of Adams Peak. Nice breakfast is served, and there are plenty of shops and restaurants in the neighbourhood. The palace is very quiet and cozy it feels like home. Well located, very nice view, and garden. The food is very pleasant, the chef is very talented he made the food experience very good. We booked half-board (breakfast and dinner). The staff were very friendly, literally everyone even the planters guy’s. Everyone is smiling.

The accommodation is beautiful. It has a lot of charm with the stones and the wood. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The food is fantastic. It was 14 degrees outside an it did have a radiator, which we were happy to use. The bed was very comfortable and the accommodation was clean. There was a multi-plug socket in the room where several plugs fit so we didn't need an adapter.

The very kind and friendly hotel staff even offered us a room upgrade, so we enjoyed more luxury than we had hoped for. We were welcomed with delicious cinnamon tea and warm towels. Since it’s much cooler here than in other parts of Sri Lanka, the hot towels felt especially comforting. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and a water kettle was provided. The bed and sheets were the most comfortable we’ve had during our entire trip. The night before, we were asked which type of breakfast we preferred, and we chose the Sri Lankan breakfast. It was amazing — a perfect combination of a high-class hotel breakfast and a traditional Sri Lankan selection of dishes. As we were the only guests having breakfast early in the morning, Sharat offered us a personal, butler-like service. Our whole stay was an unforgettable experience for us backpackers, and we were truly treated like royalty.

The hotel is situated on a hill overlooking 24 hectares of tea plantation, surrounded by luscious mountains. It is the perfect combination of peace and isolation amidst a breathtaking scenery. The hotel staff are very attentive to guests’ needs - be it booking car transfers or showing the best hike routes in the area. This place is a gem and we look forward to coming back.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were so attentive and helpful. We were arriving in later than expected and they had food prepared for us. The breakfast was delicious. The location was perfect as well very close to everything. Couldn’t recommend the accommodation enough - really happy with the accommodation and again the staff were just so great.

Besides doing the incredibly beautiful hike to Adams Peak, you can hire a tuktuk driver to guide you to Morey's Waterfall. the best waterfall we got to hike to in Sri lanka, challenging 1 hour hike but you'll get to stroll thru lush tea plantations and walk along side Lake Morey.

If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local...

If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local experience, NanuOya is a good town to visit. It’s very close to the main tourist town Nuwara Eliya (approx 9km away) and has buses heading there every 20mins. You can also get there by train. The locals are very helpful and kind. You get a few places to eat food like South Indian dishes and koththu and a few places to buy liquor from. There are two waterfalls and the larger, wider one located inside the Glassough tea estate is a place where you can bathe in on a sunny day. It’s a lovely little town surrounded by tea estates!

The location is off-the-beaten track a bit if that’s what you like. Personally coming from England I didn’t need to see Nuwara Elyia (little England), little point when I live in England! I enjoyed being in the middle of nowhere and in a peaceful environment before hitting the city of Kandy.

Got stuck in one spot for 45 minutes and decided to turn around. Still got amazing views though and the experience of local pilgrimage which was a privilege!

Hatton is the second largest city in Nuwara Eliya District...

Hatton is the second largest city in Nuwara Eliya District has so many places to visit.The Adams peak is the most venerated place in the area.Many reserviors and watterfalls can see in this area.Seven virgin mountains,Sri pada Forest can be explored during the stay.

Maskeliya is a market town which could be lot more .

Maskeliya is a market town which could be lot more .The hilly terrain is a planners dream. I imagine the buildings painted pastal pink and yellow, flower pots hanging from the eves, it could be a destination rather than a quick stop to buy supplies on the way to elsewhere as is now.
