Friendly staff willing to go the extra mile. Organised our safari for us, made special meals for my fussy eater kids and were just awesome in every way. Do yourselves a favour and stay and this beautiful hotel. They will do everything to make sure you enjoy your stay. From making sure you are conformable in your room to giving you advice on where to enjoy a meal (or preparing one for you at the hotel)

A quiet upmarket haven. Boutique as there are only 17 rooms, all with patios or balconies. The pool is as warm as the sea and a few steps apart. The food was great, excellent service, and we spent much time on the lounges reading. I took early morning walks on the endless beach.... with nothing on it besides a local restaurant nearby and some fishermen. A perfect place for some downtime between traveling all round sri lanka. Was worth the extra cash.

-Super big and tasty breakfast. -Clean room with water kettle, comfortable bed, quiet. - Bathroom is clean, modern and does not smell. Hot water (good water pressure) shower and a bathtub. -Location is very good, lots of restaurants and little shops nearby -Host was really super friendly and put a lot of effort to our stay and that we are comfortable, thank you yet again :) -Host is also maintaining the garden so it is really nice and lush. We would absolutely recommend this place to others, if you are thinking of booking this place -do it, you won't regred it.

Our stay at Art Yala Boutique Resort was absolutely wonderful! Muda and his team went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The food was amazing, and the location is simply stunning—perfect for a relaxing getaway. One of the highlights of our stay was the safari into Yala National Park that Muda organised for us. It was a seamless and memorable experience. The team’s thoughtfulness didn’t stop there—they even helped us book a restaurant at our next destination, which was incredibly helpful and kind. We stayed for two nights and genuinely wished we had stayed longer. Thank you, Muda and team, for such a fantastic experience. We can’t wait to come back!

The owner was very hands on. He picked us up from the junction upon arrival using his tuktuk, gave us welcome drinks, arranged the Yala safari for the next morning including food and water, showed us around the lake, and finally took us to the bus station when we left! We experienced such emotions in Sri Lanka from the service and attitude towards customers for the first time. Clean and tidy rooms, where it is pleasant to spend time, delicious dinner and maximum support and help on any issue from the host. especially grateful for the help with the bike. Slippers, brushes, shampoos, mosquito repellent and more were nice bonuses we received. These are exactly the kind of people who care about every customer. What an absolute pearl of a place. I only planned to stay the night but immediately extended four days. The staff is maybe the best I’ve ever encountered and you feel so taken care of. The rooms are beautifully designed and the perfect fit for us Europeans. I will definitely come back and although I would love to have this place for myself, I urge everyone to stay here. 11/10!!

My review is based on just one day of stay and everything we had the chance to experience. During our journey of discovering Sri Lanka, I had to choose a hotel to celebrate my wife's birthday, and Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort exceeded all my expectations. A special thank you to the wonderful team, and especially to our host Imalka, who went above and beyond to prepare a surprise for my wife – all improvised on the same day. The resort is truly paradise, fully living up to its five-star status, from check-in to check-out, with excellent facilities. The room is spacious, clean, and elegant, surrounded by gardens and offering stunning sea views. The pool is fantastic, with plenty of space to relax. The beach is peaceful and perfect for relaxing, although the sea can be quite rough. However, this is not a problem, as there is a nearby beach where swimming is safer. That beach is also charming, with seaside bars and restaurants. The bar at the Il Mare restaurant offers a happy hour with great drinks, breathtaking views, and a stunning sunset. Dinner at Journeys was the cherry on top – a warm ambiance and exquisitely prepared cuisine. Breakfast was also exceptional. Even though I am familiar with the Anantara brand and have stayed at several of their resorts worldwide, Tangalle Resort managed to surprise us. We even considered staying an extra night, but that would have disrupted our travel plans in Sri Lanka. Without a doubt, this is a hotel to return to for a longer stay. Thank you to the staff, Imalka, and Anantara!

Cinnamon Wild Yala is truly one of the most unforgettable places I have ever stayed. From the very first moment, the experience was exceptional. The staff are incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring — every request was handled quickly and with a warm smile. You immediately feel that the service here is on a very high level. The hotel’s surroundings are absolutely magical. I even encountered an elephant and a sloth bear right on the property — a once-in-a-lifetime experience! You feel completely connected to nature while still enjoying full safety and comfort. The chalets are fantastic: extremely comfortable mattresses, quiet and efficient air conditioning, and excellent soundproofing. Despite being located among the bushes and jungle, I did not encounter any mosquitoes at all — a huge advantage. Falling asleep and waking up in such harmony was simply incredible. The food deserves special praise. Both dinner and breakfast were outstanding — a wide selection, great quality, everything fresh and delicious. The kitchen here works at an impressive level. Overall, this is easily one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Amazing service, unique wildlife encounters, comfortable chalets, and exceptional dining. I can confidently recommend Cinnamon Wild Yala to anyone who wants an unforgettable experience in Yala.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 days in October 2023. The hotel is located in the Yala Nature Reserve on the ocean. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel staff. The general manager of Colonel proved to be an amazing person. He gave us a real celebration in honor of our wedding anniversary. It was funny and unforgettable. The hotel itself is not new, but it has everything you need. The rooms are large and colorful. All with ocean views, comfortable enough. Many thanks to the staff of the entire hotel for their hospitality and attention to our people.

Everything with Gems Garden was so amazing! Ruwan & Ishani is now our family away from home♥️♥️We have not met more loving and warm people, running this family business. We had the luxury to spend new years and my birthday with them, and they organized the best party! Except for the amazing family who runs it, Gems Garden is so beautiful! Our cabana was big, clean and comfortable and has a lovely porche. It is so close to the beach and loads of restaurants. We really hope to come back soon again♥️

Very nice eco kind of place. Clean, calm and situated in the countryside. Ok restaurant but could be a little improved, I would say a 8/10. (Please see the Flavors restaurant nearby to see what is a 10/10) although the pankakes for breakfast were absolutely amazing and also very good birnyami. Very nice safari with a really experienced driver really worth it. And the best of the best is the carrying manager. Doing everything so that we feel safe and comfortable. Awesome work!

Lots of gorgeous beaches nearby don’t stay on the main town beach. Take a bus to silent beach / Goyambokka beach / red beach / pallikudwua etc - you could walk from the town to Red beach and Pallikafwua too in 30 minutes Free sunbeds if you eat/ drink at the local beach bars at every beach

It should be on everyone’s itinerary! The safari was amazing- go for the all day! And Jami Riverside Hotel is run by a wonderful host couple and the accommodations were comfortable, clean and affordable. They will make all the safari arrangements with the park for you if you wish. We had a wonderful driver -PHN Kasun Sampath.

This place is amazing.

This place is amazing. We stay with our 3 young kids and the staff were so kind and attentive. All of the small details have been thought of and it’s a wonderful experience in nature. Lovely local Sri Lankan are served for each meal.

A great place to stay and would definitely recommend.

A great place to stay and would definitely recommend. Large comfortable room close to the pool, with restaurant and plenty of cold beer. We were very well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. Anyone looking for a visit to the National Park should consider staying at Tringa and booking the tour with them as they will make sure you have a great experience.

Weerawila, located in a dry zone of Sri Lanka, is ideal for wildlife safaris and nature experiences. This location is especially convenient during the rainy season, as it often stays dry even when the rest of the country is experiencing thunderstorms. We chose it specifically to avoid heavy rains.

The White House Inn is a fantastic place to stay in Thissamaharama. It’s situated in a calm and natural setting, making it perfect for relaxation. The inn is also very close to the Yala National Park, which is great for those looking to go on safari. The hotel is clean and comfortable, providing a welcoming atmosphere. The spacious lobby area is a nice spot to unwind. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, offering excellent service throughout our stay. One of the highlights was the food. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner, and the Sri Lankan dishes were absolutely delicious. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at the White House Inn and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

It's perfectly located for Yala National Park safaris, offering easy access to incredible wildlife encounters. Beyond the safaris, the town itself has a calm, local vibe with beautiful lakes and ancient temples to discover. You'll find plenty of local restaurants and shops, making it easy to enjoy authentic Sri Lankan experiences. It's a great spot for both adventure and relaxation, and I highly recommend spending some time here!

It definitely is an experience worth trying.

It definitely is an experience worth trying. The tree house has all the comforts you need but yet kept on the simple side. Don't expect much and you will get a lot. Nice food Bbq and big fire lit for you in the evening to give you a chance to relax and talk about your day activities. It was great to be left alone and the silence of the night. There were times you just felt that we were the only ones there and when you needed something the staff would magically appear
