We had one night reserved for this location, but after arriving we liked it so much that we extended our stay for one more night at the expense of time by the sea. The bungalows were really lovely. The bed was perfect. Seating in front of the bungalow overlooking Ella Rock. You can see Ella Rock from the huge covered dining room. One of the best breakfasts and meals in general that we had in Sri Lanka. Barrier free pool with spectacular mountain views. Staff absolutely fantastic and caring. We could have easily stayed a week if we had more time. We give 11 out of 10 😁

We stayed for 2 nights and had a great experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to answer our questions and assist us. The view from the balcony was absolutely beautiful, a perfect place to relax. Although the location is a bit far from the city, the property offers its own shuttle service to the center at any time you need, which was very convenient. The only small downside was that the room got a bit chilly in the evenings.

The best hotel I've ever been privileged enough to stay at badulla. The elegant décor of the rooms, top-notch amenities, and high-quality services are the prime attractions of this hotel. I have stayed at a dozen hotels but this was on the top of the list of best stays/experiences ever. The friendly and helpful staff from guard room to reception were there for every need of mine.This hotel is indeed a hidden paradise with comprehensive amenities. The location was super close to the city. (4min by walk to the main street and restaurants. So super practical when it’s raining! The staff was super super nice. They even have a laundry service that is useful if you travel light. The breakfast was amazing and they can adapt when you need to take it. (coming from a french person that the greatest compliment:) ) Even the nice decorated room itself had everything you need : a good hairdryer, tea stuff, fridge, qtips, warm blankets and AC, even a small light when the city is running out of electricity.

A gorgeous place managed by a tremendous team of excellent people. The A4 which leads to Living Heritage Koslanda is the perfect introduction to the property - jungle and waterfalls... Arriving at the gates we were welcomed by Johnson, the ever present manager, and guided to a gorgeous reception pavillion with fabulous views of the surrounding hills and dense forests. Our suite was overwhelming. Rather than a grand room, we were presented with a courtyard house built in the traditional Sri Lankan style including not only an outdoor shower, but an amazing jaccuzi, where water runs from an ancient granite water spout. This place must be experienced as words alone could never do it justice. Living Heritage Koslanda is one big experience! Another surprise was the beautiful garden in particular the infinity pool . The materials used everywhere throughout Liv. Heritage Koslanda are hand cut stone, local wood (massive beams), old terracotta roof tiles and finely polished cement floors. Most times we felt like being in an ancient temple complex in the jungle. We cannot rave enough about the place and its staff. We feel priveleged to have had the opportunity to stay in this jewel of a place. Johnson gave us a most interesting tour through their herb, veggie and fruit garden down to a small temple behind which is a small cow shed with what must be Sri Lanka's happiest 4 cows. Their only purpose is to give manure, which is used to feed the garden soil. Composted food scraps are recycled into liquid fertilizer, grey water is collected for watering during dry spells. What stands out above all is the engaging and caring service by every member of the staff as exemplified by Johnson's leadership. Don't miss out on the many offerings by the chef. As Kumar, the chief butler, so aptly said "just eat slowly, then you can eat more". He is absolutely right. Food was delicious and beautifully presented.

Anyone looking for peace and quiet, or planning to hike through the tea plantations or Horton Plains, will feel completely at home here. We stayed in the wonderful Room No. 1, which offers an absolutely beautiful view over the tea fields. Despite heavy rain, the hosts welcomed us warmly with tea and cake — such a lovely gesture. The dinner at the property was also excellent, especially since there are hardly any restaurants in the area. Mr. Perera gave us great, helpful advice for exploring the region. The location is perfect if you want to hike the Pekoe Trail from Ohiya to Haputale. That’s exactly what we did, sending our luggage by tuk-tuk ahead to our next stay in Haputale.

From the moment of check in to check out, I had a wonderful stay at orient hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and professional and the food was delicious. Special mention must be made to the GM Mr. Chandima who was always on the scene and attentive to our needs. We were also provided with a Trek to Ella Rock accompanied by hotel staff and a packed hotel lunch which was an incredible experience I would highly recommend. Overall was a great visit and will definitely be staying here again next time I visit.

It’s beautiful and neat. The food was delicious.The location is situated close to a few activities like Little Adam’s Peak, Ravana Club and the zip line. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They even decorated our bed and made a special cake for our anniversary. They go the extra mile. Really an amazing place, highly recommended!

Ella has an amazing vibe, it’s a very tourist-friendly place and a perfect base for daily hiking trips. It’s very different from other Sri Lankan cities and definitely worth a visit. But if you’re looking for some peace and quiet, choose accommodation slightly outside the center to avoid the noise

The climate was cool and the views were spectacular.

The climate was cool and the views were spectacular. Best place to shop for groceries and fresh produce is Cargill Opposite the old post office in the town centre. Had difficulty in finding Authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. And almost impossible to find places that offer freshly brewed Ceylon tea. People are friendly and willing to help. Accomodation is cheaper in Bandarawela. Hence it makes sense to base your self here and explore neighbouring places like Ella, Diyathlawe and Haputale .

Badulla is an up and coming tourist destination. It has much to offer but for now is excellent for those wishing to spend time in the hills and and away from the razzmatazz of Ella or the tried and tested Nuwara Eliya.

Almost everything.

Almost everything. Location was close to Horton Plains and the owners arranged a tuk tuk ride for a nominal fee. Lovely surrounding. Food was tasty and ample given. Really worth it. Owners were friendly and made the guests feel at home.

On the one hand Ella is really beautiful.

On the one hand Ella is really beautiful. Great views nice waterfalls, great hiking spots. On the other hand it is packed with tourists. You have to go out of the city quite far do find a more quiet area. Ella itself is quite small since there’s only one “big” road. For us it was way too crowded. It’s not the cute little local mountain village it used to be.

Haputale is a breathtaking hill town surrounded by lush tea estates and misty mountains. We stayed at Benito Bungalow by The Serendipity Collection, where the in-house chef prepared fresh and delicious meals every day. The cool climate, scenic views, and peaceful setting made it the perfect place to unwind. It’s quieter and less touristy than other hill stations, which adds to its charm. A true hidden gem in Sri Lanka!

Even though My stay in Badulla was too short to visit all the beautiful places, the trip to Dunhida waterfall was a great experience, especially for kids. The path to Dunhida might be difficult for someone. I believe it was a very nice experience to walk through the jungle. Once you see the waterfall, you will forget all the tiredness.

Stayed for 2 nights.

Stayed for 2 nights. Found it a bit crowded & it rained on both days. Chill Cafe is a great place to hangout & Somasiri is where you can get your essentials. 9 Arches bridge is...well, just a bridge but Ella has cute little train station and breathtaking views on the train ride down to Kandy.
