We booked our room (Rainforest studio) at Ambong Ambong rainforest retreat for 5 nights at the end of our Malaysia-Trip and I have to say that it was one of the most amazing hotels I`ve ever stayed at. The rooms look exactly like in the pictures, there`s everything you need, its clean, spacious and beautifully furnished with comfortable beds, high quality care products, complimentary drinks and snacks and fresh water every day. I think there are only about 10 rooms in total so it has a very familial touch. The pool is surrounded by the lush vegetation and wonderful to cool off after a long day (not a spot to get a tan though, as there are trees all around). What makes Ambong Ambong exceptional is the location - up on the hill directly in the rainforest, surrounded by dense vegetation, squirrels and monkeys once in a while. We had breakfast every day at the vegan breakfast lounge, and although we are not vegan (not even vegetarian), the food was exceptional! If you prefer "normal" breakfast, you can go to the other Ambong Ambong hotel located a 5 min. walk away, where you can also have dinner at the roof top terrace (shuttle available). The staff at Ambong Ambong are so unbelievably nice that you feel like home in an instant. They help you with everything - my husband lost his phone in a taxi and one member of staff drove to the taxi stations and spread the word, so the phone was secured in less than an hour. Thanks again for this exceptional help, we are so grateful! There is a nice yoga deck with a class every saturday and wonderful spa treatments. The next beach (surely not the most beautiful on the island but nice for a dip) can be reached in 5 min. walk, as well as many nice restaurants. As I read in other reviews, yes, the sound from the Dash-Resort nearby is audible from afternoon until late. Actually we got used to it and didn't even notice it after about one day.

We really enjoyed our stay here and wished we had stayed at this hotel longer rather than another one close by which we left early. Our rating is based on the quality of the place for the price. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was great for the money, no complaints and the overall location...although a little away from the main drag...did not bother us at all ...there are plenty of places to eat and drink to choose from nearby. We liked the pool area...it had a tropical feel to it and very private though quite shallow. We saw a troop of dusky leaf monkeys right there in the bushes on the grounds, just a few metres away from us ... we'd been trying various trips all week to try to see these without success, then we randomly bimble around to the pool and there they are! One of the highlights of our trip.

The infinity pool is one of a kind masterpiece. They have one of the best SPA in Langkawi. The food was equally good. Very clean environment and professional behavior from the staff.

We love everything about our stay, we came earlier at around 12pm and since our villa is available they allow us to check in early. Very nice welcome drink - we got peach tea Our villa is Soo spacious, the pool is the biggest I ever saw for a private villa so far and our room were totally beautiful. Food is great, breakfast is not a buffet but they have a variety of choice to choose from and we choose dining in room which is very convenient. Our minibar is free with lots of choice n free refill everytime we want. We have 2 TV in our villa with Soo many choice of channel and smart TV with Netflix too. Last but not least, staff was great , very friendly and Very helpful ,love them.

I am so overwhelmed; I can’t thank you enough for the experience. Exceptional barbecue by the beach on Saturday; and phenomenal temperature of the pool. Would love to visit again because it truly is paradise. Butterfly lizards are such adorable little creatures. Truly a joy to watch.

Our whole experience was next level - from the accommodation to all the facilities, food, nature surroundings and cleanliness. They have an amazing buffet breakfast and dinner and other food options. The setting is in a forest but next to a beach so you can experience all kinds of wildlife (the monkeys are well behaved!). But above all - the most important thing to mention is the staff. We were amazed by their genuine kindness and helpfulness and they have really elevated our experience.

A great central hub and a slice of paradise, which seems somewhat un discovered by the rest of the world, yet everything you want or need is perfectly catered for. I recommend checking out the local market, with plenty of food stalls, restaurants and seating areas to make an evening of it. Stroll along the Main Street or along the beach to soak up the atmosphere.

Kuah is peaceful and away from main beaches. If you like peace, this is the place but if you are coming with party mood finding something near to Cenang beach. Famous places are Maha Tower and Eagle Square. Most of the famous beaches like Cenang, Tanjung Rhu etc are 25-35 min of drive away from this place though finding cabs is not a big issue if you install Grab app in mobile.

Beautiful, clean, not much traffic jam even though during holiday season, beautiful landscaping around waterfront of Sungai Raja, Dataran Alor Setar which is so happening at night and nice scenery during day time, beautiful historical building and great history for you to explore. Masjid Zahir is a must visit spot. Don't forget to visit Paddy Museum and Kota Kuala Kedah too.

It is a small peaceful town with lots of shops you find in big cities. The food is cheap. The Pasar Tani was interesting. It is situated behind Restoran Berkat. This restaurant consists of a few stalls serving local delicacies. A must come for people not familiar with the local food. There is a more modern township called Amanjaya for the younger ones. But I prefer the area around the famous Clock Tower.

Langkawi and the people of langkawi as a whole are just beautiful. The scenery is mesmerising and so much to do. Cenang was a pleasure to visit and felt that everything was close by via my rental car.

There are many places to eat and enjoy the local food. Kulim is a small place so it was easy to get around by car. We went to a special restaurant serving western food called Akar Lima for dinner and found the food pretty good.

Small town, not suitable for shoppers.

Small town, not suitable for shoppers. Recommended for those who enjoying eating. Recommended place is Dusun Riffa which can spend time from 9 am - 7 pm with good scenery, clean place and very good food. Also recommended KinKin Restaurant which is cheap but tasty. A few more good foods but can find other places as well. Bundle shops - there are a lot of good stuff to shop with good quality.

Beautiful beach and mangroves.

Beautiful beach and mangroves. We did hte Mangrove ride and island hopping. Not easy to get around, its remote and on the northern most tip of the island, should have own vehicle. Not many restaurants around the area, only resorts.

Its just a great vacation here.. the staff is so friendly and the place was just too great.. i wish they have a lift so that customer can bring up their stuff easily.. overall very satisfied and if have a chance will come again to this beautiful place..

Location was perfect for us, not too close to the main...

Location was perfect for us, not too close to the main streets but not difficult to get to at all. Our host was so helpful and the traditional breakfast is a must. Accommodation is excellent and the views are fantastic.
