Our stay at EcoAmazonia lodge was excellent. The accommodation was amazing, cute rooms, daily cleaning and the food was the most delicious we tasted in Peru, everything fresh and handmade, different plate every day. Who could imagine a stay in the Amazon could be so comfortable?? The staff in the lodge were friendly and welcoming. The activities in the rainforest went beyond expectations. The staff has put so much work to create paths in the jungle that look natural and make the activities accessible to everybody. Each activity was a unique experience and the fact that this lodge is the last one deep in the Amazon jungle gives you a chance to be as close as it's safe to the wildlife. The guides were all knowledgeable and friendly. Especially, Urbano, he's a star, he could spot animals from a distance and cared about showing it to each person in the group! Also, smiley Victor and lovely Maria. Thank you all for giving us unforgettable tours and making us feel like home in the jungle! And last but not least, we also enjoyed some relaxed days at the lodge hanging out with Jennifer the monkey!! Don't look further, book this accommodation for your trip in the Amazon jungle, totally recommended!!

The total package is a wonderful experience. From the long-boat journey to the field excursions, all well run. The accommodation is superb when you consider where it is in a jungle setting. A quality experience. The staff are superb and the facilities well maintained in a very hot, wet and humid setting. Its the little things like gum boots and well placed umbrellas that make for a well thoughtout experience. Then you add on the wildlife which is everywhere!!

Absolutely amazing stay! I didn’t want to stay deep in the jungle, but this hotel was the perfect balance — it still gave you that lush, jungle feeling while being conveniently located in town. We booked a room in the newer block with AC, and the view was just incredible — truly breathtaking! The hotel also has a lovely restaurant with a great breakfast and good food overall. I would definitely stay here again!

A great city with a relaxed atmosphere, the people here are very friendly and helpful. Loads of options for eating and drinking at very cheap prices. Street food is definitely worth a try as are the tiny street corner bars for empanadas and a glass of some kind of juice. Try Flama Central on Av Cusco for great grilled meats. Hamburgo for a burger. Any of the bars for big bottles of Cusqena beer, pilsner, trigo, dorada or negra, they’re all great. Head to the ferry port and talk to the family running the bar there about a river trip with Edu, one of the sons who is a guide. After dusk you might get to see Owl monkeys a little further along the river bank. Again, ask Edu It’s easy to walk the grid system but you can always flag down a moto if you’re feeling weary. Head to the Cacao centre to eat or drink and you might see a family of tamarins passing through or an agouti.

Shintuyu Hot Springs has beautifully local engineered pool landscaped in natural environment, where I was able to watch monkeys eating in nearby trees, a humming bird extract nectar from bright red flowers next to the pool, beautiful butterflies of various colours flutter by. I visited waterfalls - one of which is the most impressive in my recent memory. Jhohan paid attention to my needs and is from the local area with lots of knowledge to share covering culture, plant and animal life, the water sources; river & hot springs.

The staff is by far the greatest asset of Gree Diamond Lodge. They are exceptional. The beds could be improved. In my opinion the single best improvement they could make is finding a way to provide fans in the rooms, possibly powered by solar. The heat and humidity are quite overwhelming.
